When you eat healthy foods more often, you can lose weight!
Shedding unwanted pounds is a lot easier if you can get back to basics and learn to eat foods that are nutritious and delicious! Eat simple foods that are simply delicious!
Here's the thing. Stuffing your face with high fat foods will only make you gain weight. If you eat too many fatty foods, you are bound to get fat! Losing weight is all about controlling sudden urges and living simply.
Eat Healthy Foods to Lose Weight
The foods that you eat should be simple foods. What do I mean by that? Well for one thing, simple food is REAL FOOD. It is wholesome and nutritious naturally. It also means that you don't consume a lot of foods that are high in calories.
The meal below follows the guidelines for healthy serving sizes and portion sizes. It includes one thinly sliced pork chop browned in cold pressed Olive Oil, freshly steamed green beans with fresh onions, and a delicious sweet potato casserole with prunes. It's a well balanced meal, very filling, inexpensive, and very easy and quick to fix.
Looks pretty great, huh? This healthy meal only took about 1/2 hour to fix! Very aesthetically pleasing, not so? The colorful plate and the colorful display of different healthy, nutritional foods make you hungry. These things make a big difference to your palate!
If you're wondering, that is only one small pork chop, cooked about 10 min. per side in cold pressed olive oil. If you cut your meat up into bite sized pieces, it sure looks like more on your plate than it does before you cut it up.
Another example of a simple meal you might fix for dinner is a boneless chicken breast fried in Olive Oil with wild rice. Add to that a big healthy serving of lightly steamed broccoli and that’s it! (Wild rice and broccoli are 'complimented' by adding a touch of real LIGHT butter with fresh ground salt and pepper only.)
When you fix chicken or other meats for a meal, be sure to RINSE the meat thoroughly and completely dry it with a paper towel before cooking it.
Watching Rachael Ray cook boneless chicken breasts last weekend, really shocked me. She opened a package of boneless chicken breasts and threw it right into a heated pan. She didn't wash it at all. Eeewwww! Gross!
Rinse any meat you serve under cold water, then dry it with a paper towel before cooking. Clean the gunky junk off the edges of chicken especially. This includes the fat and the veiny stuff along the sides. You'll not want that crap in your body! Take a few minutes to get rid of bacteria and fat that could cause you further problems!
If your goal is to eat healthy to slim down, you've got to omit eating the stuff that isn't healthy or at least cut back on it.
Also, when you are frying most types of meat, be sure to cook it about 10 minutes, (using medium heat), on one side before turning it. You need to 'sear' the meat to lock in the nutrients. Include olive oil in as many dishes as possible. Its rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and helps lower cholesterol!
Cooking meat this way will render the meat more tender and will also create a golden brown crust. If you are cooking boneless chicken breasts, cook 10 minutes on one side, then 10 minutes on the other side. You don't have to give anything up to eat healthy. Its all a matter of balance.
Another thing you should think about omitting from your meals is bread. Having a sandwich for lunch is fine but omit it with dinner if you can. After you've gotten used to it, you won't miss it much anymore. Most people are allergic to wheat gluten, which also causes your metabolism to slow down. When you're trying to get rid of excess weight, you want to speed up your metabolism! This is especially true if your blood type is 'O' and somewhat true if your blood type is 'A'. Eating right for your blood type is also a great way to increase your metabolism and lose weight the right way!
You might buy 'light' of any food you can find! See how inventive you can become when you learn to budget your food consumption and know to serve low fat meals that are healthier!
