Will Cutting Damaged Hair Ends Make Hair Thicker?

I had my brown hair bleached not long ago to dye it vibrant red. I have now gone brown again as my hair was very damaged (particularly the ends) and falling out. My hair is a lot thinner now than before, where it was very thick.

It is quite long. If I get it cut taking off the damaged ends, will this help the dyes grow out and help it to grow thicker again?

***********

Cutting your damaged ends off will not help your hair grow, but it could make it appear thicker. Hair growth is the only thing that will make the colors grow out faster. Since your hair only grows about 1/2" per month, this could take a while, especially since you have very long hair.

To assist hair growth, try taking B vitamins, especially Biotin. I've been taking Super Biotin, which is 5000 micrograms, for years and it really helps grow your hair out faster.

You may need other key vitamins though, that also help with hair growth.

You can get an extensive list here:

Best Hair Vitamins for Hair Growth

If you truly love your hair, cherish it. Sure it's fun to try new styles and colors but be careful about the products you choose to apply to your hair. Do regular deep conditioning treatments to help add moisture back to your hair. The environment robs your hair (skin and nails) of the vital moisture it needs to look and feel healthy. Be sure to replenish it often.
