Will Bleached Hair turn Green in Swimming Pools?
by Ruth Smith

I had my hair bleached last Saturday from red to blonde. I'm going on holiday in 2 weeks time and want to go swimming, will it be alright if I go in the pool or will it make my hair turn green??
Would appreciate your help,
Thank you
Ruth

As long as your hair is properly moisturized before you get in the pool, your hair should be fine. Your
hair's porosity is so important before and after you receive chemical services. If properly conditioned, your hair is far less likely to absorb unwanted chemicals that are often present in pools.
To heir on the side of caution, its a good idea to also rinse your hair thoroughly after getting out of the pool. This will ensure that your hair doesn't retain any copper salts that are sometimes present in the chlorine that's added to swimming pools. The presence of copper salts are what cause blonde hair to turn green.
However, if you still feel nervous about it, use a swimming cap or put your hair up on top of your head and don't get your hair wet. There's no reason to ruin your holiday worrying about your hair the whole time!
Most of all, just try and have a great time!
