Why Women Don't Donate Hair
(Australia)
Well, I was wondering why women don't donate their hair to Locks of Love. Have you heard about the program?
Our salon is running a charity and no girls with long hair wanna cut it short, do you know why?
Alot of American people do, as they are on online cutting their hair for videos all the time, but can you explain why girls don't wanna cut their long hair short or shave their heads?
***************
Sure I've heard of it. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
A woman's hair is very a very precious thing. According to the Bible, a woman's true beauty lies in her hair. Not that everyone's religious but in many Christian homes, this principle is taught to girls at a very early age.
Many women (including myself) cut their own hair but not enough to make a donation. Hair has to be at least 10 inches or longer in order to donate to Locks of Love.
Another problem is bleach. Hair that has been recently bleached or lifted, cannot be donated because of possible chemical reactions.
I don't think its so much that women don't want to donate. You can also make financial contributions to Locks of Love and not have to part with your hair. Women and men alike, love their hair. You can't discredit them for that.
