Weight Loss Facts You Can’t Ignore


Whether you are thinking about shedding a few pounds or more, there are a few weight loss facts that you’ll need to know before you start any plan, program, or diet. Criteria for a good weight loss plan should include ones that are more affordable and nutritional. They must also work well!

To be successful in anything you do in life, you must become educated about it first. We all crawled before we walked! When you fall into the weight gain trap, you forget what you’ve learned and been taught from early on. No one (I hope) ever told you that you’d be the same size all your life no matter what you ate. When you eat 2 or 3 cheeseburgers everyday for lunch and don't exercise, you are going to gain weight. That’s just one of many weight loss facts.



In the US alone, there are 18 million children who are Obese. 81% of our population is overweight. Of those, 31% are said to be grossly Obese.


Why do people gain weight? There are numerous reasons people put on pounds, which include eating the wrong foods, depression, boredom, eating too much, and stress. Top it off with not getting enough exercise and you’ve created a weight disaster!

How do you kick weight problems in the butt? If you really want to kick some ass and lose excessive weight, then you will! People always prioritize what’s most important to them in life! If a cheeseburger is your top priority, you can bet your bottom dollar that you’ll have one by the end of the day. You have to prioritize weight loss in order to lose weight.

You also do it because you plan on it!

No one every attended college and graduated without prioritizing their studies and planning out their curriculum. You must think of weight loss in the same terms. Losing weight is your curriculum and weight loss is your goal. It has to come first in your life, above all else. It must always be on your mind and you must carefully plan out how you are going to succeed! Besides prioritizing, there are a few healthy weight loss facts you’ll want to consider!



Healthy Weight Loss Facts

#1) You Gotta Wanna! - You gotta wanna or you’re not gonna! Period! If you don’t want to lose weight, then you won’t. That’s the plain and simple truth! I have to assume that most of the people reading this are adults. As adults we have to think and act as adults. No one ever said that life was going to be easy. No promises are made when you are born. You are as you are because you got that way. If you want to undo what you’ve done, then do it. Those are weight loss facts! You just gotta wanna!

#2) Make a Commitment - In order to shed some weight, you must commit to it. Take your weight loss very seriously if you have a lot to lose! Its your life you are risking by being overweight. If you want to increase your lifespan, losing weight takes on new meaning. Again and again, people who lose unwanted weight, feel better, look better, and become healthier!

#3) Shake Junk Food - Junk food is crap! That’s why it’s called junk! No secret there! In order to succeed in your weight loss plans, you must kick junk food out of your diet. Sure, it’s OK to occasionally have a sprinkle of cake, candy, or pizza in your diet. But they should be the exception and not the rule. Get junk food out of your life and you’ll be surprised how much weight you can lose! Learn to replace baked potato chips for fried ones, learn to buy low calorie wheat bread instead of white bread, (it has three times more fiber and half the calories), and learn to replace Ho Ho’s and donuts with low calorie animal crackers or plain popcorn. There are a thousand ways to replace healthier foods with junk foods. Look around the grocery store when you’re there next time. See how many new healthier foods you never saw before cause you've always bought the same foods. Seek and you shall find! You can find great alternatives that can replace the junky stuff!

#4) Get rid of Toxins - When you are overweight, your body has fat on it. Maybe no one bothered to tell you but fat is not just unhealthy, it is toxic. When toxins come into your body, they are surrounded by your fat cells and then stored deep in your visceral fat. This ‘fat’ can surround your organs and cause all kinds of medical problems in your body. When you get rid of fat, you get rid of toxins and you improve your health. How do you get rid of the toxins in your body? You do it by drinking lots of fresh, non toxic water, and by doing an occasional weight loss cleanse. Cleanses get rid of fat very quickly so if your weight loss needs a boost, then you should do a cleanse to get you started on the right track. This one fact, above all other weight loss facts, is the most important because accumulated toxins can become deadly very quickly!

5) Work It! - Nothing ever got done by not working at it. You must be willing to spend time planning out what your next step should be, even if it’s just staying on your present weight loss course. If you get stuck or come to a stand still in your weight then your metabolism might just need a gentle nudge or boost. For that, I recommend #4 in this list.

6) Give Up - When you have a plan to lose weight, you’ve got to be willing to give up some of your bad habits. For example: I used to associate 5pm on Friday’s as my ‘cocktail’ hour. When 5:00 on Friday rolled around each week, I used to get very nervous if I didn’t have a beer in my hand. I had trained my mind and body to ‘need’ a drink by 5 on Friday’s come hell or high water. In order to change that mindset, I had to give up those associations I had about Fridays and 5pm. It’s the same way for food. Stop making unhealthy associations by changing the way you view things. Change your view and give up your unhealthy perspectives and replace them with new associations.

7)Stop Eating Out! - OK, there I said it! Not only are you hurting your pocketbook by eating out so much, you are paying a much higher price for this convenience. Give a man and meal and he will eat for one day. Give a man a loaf of bread and a hunk of cheese and he will eat for several days.

People give me excuses for eating out all the time. "I was hungry and tired". "It was so much easier to just pick something up". "I couldn’t think of anything I wanted". Are you kidding me? Get Real!

When you have a day off from work, sit down and plan out what you’ll eat the next week. Make a list! (Make healthy choices!) Just like I had to plan out and make a list for this weight loss facts page, you must do the same for the food you consume. Go to the store and be sure you buy what you need only. Then you'll have something to fix, grab, and snack on all week long and fast foods won’t have to be part of the picture. Buy things like instant oatmeal, snack bars, fruits, vegetables, eggs, bread, beans and so on. They might not be as appealing or sexy as an Arby’s roast beef sandwich, but they will do nicely! You’ll also save a bunch of money and then be able to eat somewhere really nice occasionally with the money you put aside.

8) Regularity - If you don’t have regular bowel movements, not only will you be unhealthy, you’ll be full of toxins that cause further havoc on your body. In order to benefit from the healthy foods you eat, you need to get rid of putrid fecal matter that has accumulated in your intestines.

Add high fiber to your diet as often as you can so that elimination is easier for you. Drink plenty of water to help increase the fluids in your body which are needed to have healthy bowel movements. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that everyone should have a bowel movement after each meal. Its just one of the weight loss facts that can't be ignored! When you lose the stored wastes in your intestines, you will also lose weight, feel better, and be happier.

Truly wanting to lose weight is the first step in weight loss. Remember these weight loss facts when you plan on losing weight. They will get you far! You may even want to print out these healthy weight loss facts so you'll have a reminder. Whatever you do, if you are overweight, make losing weight your top priority!
