Washing Hair and Working Out

by Anrea Ada
(Tamuning, Guam)

I regularly like to work out hard which means a lot of sweating. I understand that you shouldn't wash your hair too often.

With all the work outs I put in and without washing my hair too often, my hair feels a lot more dry but is oily at the roots.

How can I work out without putting my hair through damage and/or excess washing.

**************

A lot really depends on how long your hair is. If you've got mid length to short hair, its alright to wash your hair more frequently.

Because your workouts are causing you some hair distress, you may need to wash your hair more frequently, even if you have long hair. Just because you wash your hair often, doesn't mean you'll damage it.

If you haven't switched over yet, maybe this is a good time to start using organic shampoos and conditioners. Organic products don't have the harmful chemical ingredients that regular products have so they're naturally gentler on your hair.

If you don't want to make the switch just yet, opt for milder shampoos, like baby shampoo.
