How Long Should I Wait After Waxing Hair to Go Tanning?
Q) How long should I wait after waxing hair (eyebrows) to go tanning?
I really need to know so I don't mess up my tan!
Professional Hair Care Answer - This might sound crazy but when you wax any skin you change the pH of your skin. I always suggest plucking your eyebrow shape but waxing other unwanted facial hair. You should always wait after waxing to go tanning, at least an hour or so. (That is if you follow the steps correctly to restore pH, reduce the size of your pores, and moisturize your skin.)
After waxing, zipping, plucking, or using a depilatory you should always restore the PH by using a skin toner. If you use one like Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner, you'll get a toner and minimize your pores at the same time. Toner's help restore the PH and will help alleviate that 'reddened' look you get after waxing. I would suggest that you allow your skin to rest for a few hours after waxing before tanning. And always follow up by using a moisturizer. I also suggest using microwaveable wax hair removers. These are simple and easy to heat up and apply. There {should be] are 4 steps to waxing, after you've cleaned your skin.
wax
use toner
apply a moisturizer
allow your skin to rest.
Don't ever, ever shave facial hair though. Shaving it will cut the ends of the hairs and make them appear thicker. The hair won't grow in thicker but it will look like it is cause the ends are now blunt.
