Very Dry Hair Ends

Can you say why my hair ends are always so dry? Even when it has just been processed it is very dry. What can I do to fix it?

**************

When your hair ends are extremely dry all the time, its a good sign that your hair isn't getting the proper nutrients it needs to stay moisturized.

Your hair is composed of keratin, which is protein. But protein without moisture can cause hair to become dry and brittle. That's why your scalp has sebaceous glands, which naturally provide moisture for your hair.

One way to get rid of very dry hair ends is to moisturize them regularly with olive oil, argan oil, or coconut oil. Apply to hair ends liberally and allow to set in your hair for as long as possible. You can apply the oil to your ends before bedtime, wrap in a towel or cap, and then rinse and shampoo out the next day. Don't forget to use a conditioner though!

Another tip for dry ends is to forgo shampoo and use your conditioner in place of a shampoo instead. Apply to hair ends and mid hair shaft only though. Getting conditioner too near the scalp will make your hair greasy.

Take a good look at the products you are using on your hair. A change in hair products can often solve the problem for many people. There maybe ingredients in the products you're presently using that dry out your hair. Look for alcohol, sulfates or sulfites, and other drying ingredients. Simply switching to an organic shampoo and conditioner could make all the difference in the world!

Also, don't shampoo everyday unless you have really short hair. Let your sebaceous glands do what they do best, which is moisturize your hair naturally!

You may also need to bolster your dry ends because dry hair is very brittle. Use the yolk from an egg to supply biotin and keratin. Mix it with 2 tablespoons of preferably olive oil, or just use what you have on hand. Apply the mixture to your hair ends and mid hair shaft and cover with a cap or towel. Keep the mixture on your hair for 15 minutes, then rinse, shampoo and condition as usual. Do this several times a month and you should start seeing visible results.
