Using a Relaxer on Permed Hair

I got a permanent wave in my hair and I don't like it. It is drying and breaking my hair. I heard about a great relaxer called Phyto relaxer and I want to use that on my hair. I have about 1 & 1/2 inches of new growth and I wanted to use Phyto relaxer on my roots and use it until I grow out the perm. Do you think that would work?

Your new growth isn't permed so there should be no problem. I don't understand why you'd want to straighten your new growth since its not permed, unless you have naturally curly hair to begin with.

You should be able to safely use Phyto relaxer on your new growth. Just be sure you don't overlap into the permed hair though, especially since its already breaking off. Another harsh chemical will only make it worse.

And if your hair is breaking off that much, you should be doing some damage control and using rescue conditioners with protein. Protein will help rebuild your hair and it will look and feel a lot better.
