Thin Hair and Hair Loss
I'm a 19 year old girl in her second year of college. Last year I was sick with stomach problems and took quite a bit of medicine. Better this year, but still stressed however my stress is better handled. Since last October I've been noticing quite a lot of hair coming out in the shower, etc.
I have long blonde hair. It used to be thick and everywhere, straight and full of volume. Now I have thin hair, very fine and breaks SO easy. My hairdresser and doctor are baffled. I take biotin and prenatal vitamins, I use the best brands of deep conditioners and shampoos. I have no troubles health wise except stress from school and chronic eczema (which I'm told will be with me forever but isn't near my scalp). I take super good care of my hair.
How can I make it thick and strong and healthy again?? It's slowing down with the falling out and stuff, no bald patches or issues with scalp. My hair is all natural, no dyes or treatments... Never had this happen before.

I suspect that you do have some bald spots that you just aren't seeing. To see if you do, part your hair off into 2 front sections and 2 back sections. Use a rat tail comb and start parting one of your front sections into 1/4" sections, from front to back or visa versa. Repeat on both sides. If you don't find any, you may need help in searching your scalp in back. You maybe very surprised as to what you find. In other words, you can't lose that much hair and not have them.
This past summer, I had severe intestinal problems and a ton of stress. My hair started coming out, like all get out. I was losing a lot of hair. I didn't see the bald spots in my hair until I did a root color, where you part your hair off in 1/4" sections as described above. I was horrified. Not only did I have one bald spots, I found 4, but mainly on one side of my scalp. I also had thick,
curly hair before all this happened and now my hair is thin and fine too.
There's nothing you can do but continue what you're already doing. In most cases, hair loss (alopecia areata) will stop and new hair will grow back within a year. Be patient and just keep a watch on your tummy problems. There maybe some underlying problem that you aren't aware of just yet. I was diagnosed with colitis, which with the stress, explained my
hair loss.
Bald Spots, Thinning Hair, and Hair LossOh, and by the way, take
Super Biotin instead of just biotin. Its good 5000 micrograms instead of 1000. If I weren't taking it at the time of my
hair loss, mine would have been a lot worse than it was I'm sure.
