Thalia was born Ariadna Thalia Sodi Miranda on August 26, 1972 in Mexico City, the youngest of five children. Her break out album was the 1995 release of "En Extasis," an album that remained number one for many weeks, and was a hit internationally. Her third album, "Amor a la Mexican" in 1997, was equally successful, bringing with it many honors for the star, including a declaration in Los Angeles that April 25 should be "Thalia Day," a wax figure of the star in her native Mexico City, and once being chosen Queen of the Miami Carnival.
