Q) - I would like to tease my hair! The thing is my teased hair requires a lot of hairspray and stuff like that! Having thick hair and teasing is tough.
So I would like to know, is there anyway that my hair will not be damaged? Or maybe a product that will help me to take proper care of it, after using so many strong hairsprays and hair waxes?
Professional Hair Care Tips - So you love poofy hair but hate mistreating your hair with lots of products and teasing? This is a really great question. I don't use a lot of products in my hair for that very reason. However, if you're having problems brushing it out and getting the products out of your hair, you may want to clarify your hair every now and then.
You can clarify your hair by by using Tea Tree oil shampoos or Jojoba oil shampoos. They can strip the build up off your hair. Just be sure to condition well after-wards and don't clarify to often. Deep condition every now and then, and don't tease your hair everyday! You will have many split ends if you do.
If you get tangles from teased hair, gently work them out from the bottom of the tangle to the top. Use a wide toothed comb always! Don't ever rip your hair out. It may take a while to remove the knots and 'rats' but it's worth the extra time. Leave in conditioners can help you get the tangles out of teased hair more easily, just as spray on detangling products can. I use these products all the time during swimming weather in the summer. Because I've got curly hair, my hair tangles naturally, especially underneath.
Also, have you tried root lifters? They are another product that help lift your hair up off your scalp. Another trick to have more lift at the roots, is to spray firm holding hairspray onto your roots while you lift your hair up in the air. Then gently blow dry (on low heat) your hair roots while you're lifting your hair up. If you want to get radical, use freeze hairspray.
If you use Hot Rollers to curl your hair, hold your hair straight up in the air and roll downwards towards your scalp. (Of course, you'll only be able to do this on the hair on the top of your head.) Another way is to roll your hair the opposite direction. If you wear your hair parted to the right, roll your hair to the left. This switch of directions helps lift your hair off your scalp.
You can also help out the process by using volumizing shampoo's, like Pureology volume shampoo. These shampoos also help boost body into your hair.
