Antiaging Skin Care Tips to Improve Your Skin

There are several skin care tips you can implement right now to help keep your skin looking great!

Realize though, that no one has perfect skin! Most everyone has skin discolorations or other imperfections that we seek to make less evident.

The condition of your skin however, may say a lot about you! If you consume an unhealthy diet, it will show up on your skin. The statement ‘you are what you eat’ is true when it comes to skin care.

If you want a healthy complexion, you must do things that enhance it. Start your skin care makeover by consuming more healthy foods. Fatty foods create toxins in your body, which are excreted through the pores of your skin. The more you eat, the unhealthier your skin will look.

Exercise is recommended to improve lung function and circulate more oxygen in your body. The more oxygen your cells have, the better your skin will look.

Regular bowel movements are also a top skin predictor. If you are constipated or don't 'go' regularly, toxins can build up in your bowels and your skin will suffer it's consequences. Proper elimination is key to taking good care of your skin.

An over indulgence in drugs (prescription or not), alcohol, and smoking can also affect the way your skin looks. The bottom line is that you cannot expect to have healthy looking skin, if you consume things that make you physically unhealthy.

Beyond diet and exercise, there are many other things you can do to improve your skin's clarity and condition.

Antiaging Skin Care Tips

Vitamin Supplements for Skin Renewal

  • Consume vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium and vitamin A as beta-carotene help combat wrinkles, age spots and sagging skin.

  • To improve the texture and moisture content of the skin, it is recommended to supplement with iron, zinc and beta carotene vitamins.

  • Take vitamin C to enhance the connective tissue of the skin.

  • B Vitamins are an important for the health of hair, skin and nails and should be taken regularly. Emergen C Super Energy Booster combines both C and B vitamins, is convenient, is available in a variety of flavors, and tastes pretty good, considering its packed with vitamins!

  • Evening Primrose oil supplements are reported to be highly beneficial for skin, as they contain Gamma Lionelic Acid, a well known essential fatty acid. Primrose oil use helps strengthen skin cells and increase moisture content of the skin.

  • Biotin is a wonderful B vitamin which is highly underrated for it's effectiveness. Its cheap, easy to find, and helps promote it's strength and growth more than any other supplement I've ever used. Super Biotin is highly beneficial if you have unhealthy hair, skin, or nails.

  • Eat superfoods and live a healthy lifestyle. These are no nonsense choices for great skin!

Skin Care Tips to Prevent UVA/UVB Damage

  • Vitamin C - Take vitamin C and vitamin E to protect your skin against sunburn. Another simple supplement that protects against sunburn is astaxanthin. It's very well known for boosting your skin's natural resistance to sunburn. Its fat soluble carotenoids are transported to skin cells where they protect those cells from UV exposure.

  • Fish Oil - Fish oil contains omega 3 fatty acids that may fight against both UVA and UVB radiation in people with sensitivity to light. If you have problems with indigestion, you may have found fish oil hard to take in the past. Instead opt for products like Omega 3 Soft Chews. These are a lot easier to digest and won't give you that 'fishy' aftertaste.

After having a problem with fish burps for many years, I finally found a way to eliminate them. If you take fish supplements with your other vitamins and supplements, (not by themselves) you lower your risk of getting the dreaded 'fish burps'. You can also take them with food, take enteric coated fish oil supplements, or use flax oil instead.

  • You can get a great tan by using sunless tanning lotions. Why risk UVA or UVB sun damage?

  • Your daily skin care tips should include taking targeted vitamin supplements. When taken regularly, they help reduce the visible signs of aging!

    Sallow Skin Care Tips

  • Dull or sallow skin may be a symptom of a weakened immunity or an overindulgence in fatty foods and carbohydrates with little exercise.

  • Skin may also appear sallow or lifeless especially throughout the winter months due to light conditions. Winter light has a blue cast that can make you look pale. In contrast, summer light sheds a warm, yellow glow.

    Resolve Sallow Skin

  • Steaming your face is beneficial for relaxing, soothing, and boosting circulation. It also helps to deep clean pores and flush out bacteria and other impurities. Facial steamers also help to soften your skin.

  • Once your pores are open, your skin becomes more receptive to other skin brightening treatments, like skin illuminators and radiance enhancing moisturizers.

  • Facial scrubs also help improve circulation which brightens your skin naturally. Use them regularly for sallow skin.

  • Warm up sallow skin by wearing warm berry or rose toned colored lipsticks and cheek colors. These create a natural flush on the cheeks. Shimmering golden blushes applied on the temples, browbones, and cheekbones also add warmth to facial tones and give sallow skin a healthy glowing complexion.

    Exfoliation Skin Care Tips

  • Every month your skin sheds old skin cells and replaces them with new skin cells. Exfoliating your skin regularly helps eliminate dead skin cells. The pressure you use during exfoliation increases circulation and aids in new cell production.

Use exfoliating scrubs to remove impurities and help eliminate blackheads and bacteria. Your skin will be oh so soft! Use this skin care tip and exfoliate your skin every few days for dry skin and every day for oily skin. In fact, I encourage you to take the facial scrub challenge!

    Toner Skin Care Tips

  • Using a toner after you clean your face helps give skin a fresh feeling and eliminates impurities. Toners and floral waters are popular.

  • Rose water is excellent to use for dry skin and Camomile water can be used as a toner for normal and sensitive skins. Toners like Neutrogena Pore Refining Toner and Olay Refreshing Toner work well for normal to oily skin types.

    Moisturizing Tips for Skin

  • There are two separate kinds of moisturizers: humectant moisturizers and occlusive moisturizers. Humectant moisturizers draw water up from the dermis. Occlusive moisturizers form an oily film on the surface of the skin to seal in moisture and prevent evaporation.

  • Your body’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF) monitors the water flow from the dermis to the surface of your skin to your skin cells. The natural sebum your body produces combats moisture loss and forms a barrier on the surface of the skin which delays water evaporation. Production of NMF and sebum slows down with aging and is why you should use water based moisturizers.

  • All skin types need moisturizing at least twice daily. You can also find good moisturizers with SPF protection and vitamins.

Use broad spectrum sunblocks for protective and moisturizing qualities in one.

    Lip Care Skin Tips

  • Your lips require extra protection as they lack many of your body's natural protective barriers, like glands and melanin. Without built in barriers to protect them, your lips lose moisture regularly and maybe prone to dryness as well. For these reasons, it is good advice to wear lip balms or lipsticks with UVA and UVB protection.

Lip gloss sets are an inexpensive way to get several shades of lip gloss. These are great to have in several places around the house so your lips never get dry in the first place. Use lip plumpers for sexy, sultry, full lips too!

If you combine good skin care tips with good old fashioned common sense, you can turn back the clock back and your skin will look radiant!
