Shimmer lights turned my hair gray!
I left shimmer lights shampoo on my hair too long. It turned parts of my hair gray. What can I do?
You didn't tell me what color your hair is so that's a big issue with the whole question.
Assuming you have blonde or light colored hair, the best way to counteract blue undertones (the blue in the shampoo combined with the undertones from your own hair color is causing it to look gray) is to use an orange based hair color.
In this case, I would suggest trying a golden hair color, which will add back some of the red/yellow/orange colors it's missing to balance out your hair color.
You can spot treat your hair and only apply it to the parts of your hair that turned gray or go ahead and apply the color to all of your hair. It's your choice.
Before you try it though, do a hair color strand test
to ensure that you're not going to get a funky color.
You could also just keep washing your hair often to see if the color will eventually wash out of your hair. You might also want to try an mandarin orange shampoo. There are a lot of them on the market (Mandarin Orange or Sweet Orange) so it just might be worth a shot! Just make sure the shampoo is an actual orange color or it won't help counteract the gray hair at all.
Hope this helps.
