Shedding a few pounds will be a lot less stressful if you can enjoy the process. There's just no need to wig out about losing a small amount of weight anyway!

Most people's weight fluctuates throughout their lives. Sometimes you are too thin, sometimes you're a bit heavy, but sometimes you're just right, which is ultimately the BEST place to be!

No one (I hope) ever told you that you’d be the same size all your life no matter what you ate. When you eat 2 or 3 cheeseburgers everyday for lunch and don't exercise, you are bound to leave evidence behind!

So why do people put on pounds in the first place? One reason is that you're taught to eat right out of the womb. Then you grow up and people are still shoving food at you. It's no wonder that most people struggle with their weight at one time or another. Use the simple ideas and tips below to help you lose those extra pounds that are driving you mad.

  • A Kaiser Permanente study found that people who read weekly wellness newsletters, ate more fresh produce and fewer trans fats after a period of 16 weeks. Are you subscribed to emails that help motivate you? If not, why not subscribe to a few of them?

  • Shedding a few pounds just got easier IF you're OK with turning the lights down. Researchers at Ohio State University found that mice that slept in total darkness were far less prone to obesity than the mice that slept in bright lights or even dim illumination (e.g., a computer screen). Furthermore, the mice that slept with some light tended to eat at odd times. (e.g. midnight snacks)

    Shedding a few pounds may not sound daunting but it can be frustrating. However, doing something - even if it's one thing - is certainly better than doing nothing!
