Shampoos to Avoid on Colored Hair

What shampoos should you avoid on coloured hair?

**********

Colored hair needs special moisturizing/conditioning shampoos. Most of the time, your hair will fair better by using shampoos and conditioners that are especially made for color treated hair or chemically treated hair.

Some ingredients found in regular shampoos, are not good for colored hair, and may cause your hair to lose color if they're used too often. Of all the bad ingredients, sulfites and sulfates are the greatest offenders for colored hair. Loreal Everpure should be available in most countries, and is a great choice for color treated hair.

Of course, a lot of color loss, depends on how well you condition your hair. If you don't moisturize your hair regularly, you can end up with dry hair, so conditioning is just as much (if not more) important than shampooing!

Organic shampoos are always a great choice because they generally contain natural ingredients, (like natural herbs and oils) that are good for your hair.

Most women over-wash their hair too. If you have shoulder length or longer hair, you should only shampoo a couple times a week at most. When you shampoo too often, you don't allow natural oils your body makes, to penetrate the hair shaft and do what they do best: moisturize your hair.
