Semi Permanent Color over Permanent Color

I had my hair professionally done a month ago. I am wanting to dye my hair myself because they did a bad job and my roots are already showing. If I apply a semi-permanent dye on my hair, will it come out all the same shade?

Semi permanent hair colors only deposit and enhance color, they cannot lift it. Root growth typically shows a month after permanent color has been applied. This is normal.

You hair cannot possibly come out all the same color because you have two different hair colors. If your root color isn't too far off from your colored hair, it might blend alright. If your roots however, are more than a shade/level different than the hair that's been colored, it won't work. You will need to color your roots to match the rest of your hair and then apply a semi permanent hair color.
