If you want to reverse aging, you will have to work at it, some! There are three major contributors to the aging process. If you can avoid them you can help reverse the signs of aging. Of course, there are some other things you can do that will help reverse it. Fine lines and wrinkles are some of the first signs of aging that you might experience.
Skin tones also change with time. If you've always had great skin, it might start to look a little different with age. Skin tones can become reddened, blotchy, or ‘different’ than it was when we were younger. Gray hairs may also start showing or popping up with age. Our physical appearance starts changing too. Boobs sag, chins sag, arms sag, eyes sag and bag. What a Drag!
Of course, other changes take place too. Bodily functions start slowing down and changing.
Using the bathroom becomes harder to control and even breathing may even become strained at times. Generally we tend to eat more but move less.
As you age, you have a tendency to become more forgetful and you may have to make lists of things you need to do. Then of course, you go shopping or on errands and mysteriously leave those lists at home. Things that used to be easy to do become much harder and we get very frustrated. Sometimes we even give up and give into the process.
So how can we reverse aging?
Three Major Contributors to Aging
1) The Sun
2) Excessive Alcohol or Drugs
3) Stress
We can possibly avoid the sun or alcohol or drugs to reverse aging, but avoiding stress is like asking you to avoid drinking water. Its virtually impossible!
And it sucks, but there are some things we can do to reverse aging that will help you counteract stress.
Steps to Reverse Aging
#1) Take vitamin supplements. Taking vitamins on a regular basis can really help you add years to your life and help you look more youthful.
Of course I recommend that you take them separately so that you get the essential nutrients and antioxidants your body needs to combat free radicals and prevent Cancers and other deadly diseases.
Taking them separately takes a bit more time and planning but what price will you pay for a little inconvenience?
#2) Use lots of lotion to keep your skin soft and supple. Lotions also help plump the skin and help keep the elasticity and the integrity of the skin.
Of course, you don’t have to spend a lot of $$$ to get a good one. I like using Fruit of the Earth, Vitamin E Lotion. Its inexpensive but yet effective!
I also like to do a body massage everyday with it to help keep my muscles tone too!
#3) Eat nutritious foods. Foods with little or no nutritious value, also called junk foods, will trash your body!
Your body cannot function properly without it. Drink water like you live on the Sahara Desert. If you drink enough water, your skin and body will show it and thank you! (Plus you'll lose more weight!)
#5) Include exercise in your daily schedule. I'm sure you've heard it before but it’s worth reiterating for obvious reasons.
Exercise helps tone the muscles and eliminate toxins from your body. The more toxins your body expels, the more you and your body will thrive!
#6) Use Your Brain. My son always reminds me to do this! Exercise your brain by incorporating reading more, playing games, or solving puzzles.
Whats that old saying???
A mind is a terrible thing....
....to lose...
#7) Get Enough Sleep. If you are getting too much or too little sleep, it can either help you or hurt you.
Only YOU can determine how much sleep you need. If you’re over 20 years old and reading this, you should know how much you need for you by now. Everyone is different so adjust your sleep schedule to meet your needs.
Lack of enough sleep though, will age you beyond measure. If you’re only getting 4 or 5 hours a night, you might want to rethink through your sleeping strategy and try to incorporate more. More sound sleep can enhance your daily performance, make you look well rested, (which means less fine lines and wrinkles), and really help reverse aging!
#8) Lose some weight. Use common sense tips to help you shed those extra pounds, and you will look better and feel better.
No ones body likes dragging around extra weight. Excessive weight puts all kinds of stress on how our bodies function. Do all you can to lose weight and shed those extra pounds, especially belly fat!
Tanning beds are dangerous and should not be used. We all need some sun though, as it helps our bodies produce Vitamin D. Just heir on the side of caution. Nothing in excess is good for you!
Use drugs or alcohol less often. (I am talking about recreational drugs here, not prescriptive medicines.) However, any drug you use can be harmful to you over time if they aren’t really necessary.
Color your hair if you want to hide those gray ones. Hair color can be fun and easy! Gray hair will make you look much older so get rid of it today!
Get regular massages. Massage therapy can really help alleviate stress. It has all kinds of other benefits too.
Benefits include better circulation of both the lymphatic and circulatory system. It also helps lower stress levels, increases respiration, and improves muscle tone.
