Removing Red Colors from Blonde Hair
I've been dying my hair different shades of red (everything from firetruck red to auburn) for the past three years. A while ago I decided not to colour my hair again and to let it go back to my natural colour, dirty blonde.
The last color I used was a semi-permanent brown/red hair dye about 5-6 months ago. My hair should be back to it's natural hair color by now, but only the roots and some of the back are. I want to use something to get the color out of my hair.
I've heard of using Colour Oops, laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, baby shampoo, dandruff shampoo, baking soda, and Purell as solutions. Which one of those should I use, or something else, and how should I use it?
PS My hair is a little past my shoulders.

The question is, were the other colors you used in your hair also semi permanent?
However, because your hair is naturally blonde, you need to understand about all blonde hair colors. (whether natural or not)
Blonde colors are extremely porous and thirsty. It will suck up anything you put on it, especially darker hair colors. This could cause any semi permanent hair color to act more like a permanent color. This is most probably why your hair hasn't reverted back to your natural color.
The other problem is red hair color. It's extremely hard to remove them from any hair color, once it's in place. Purple red colors are hands down, the hardest colors to remove.
You can try using some harsh shampoos on your hair, but in all inevitability, you will need to use a
color remover to get the color completely out of your hair.
If you have relatively healthy hair, it shouldn't
damage your hair.
You may have to repeat the process a couple of times, depending on how well the color is deposited in your hair cuticles.
Once you've removed the color completely, do some damage control by using a few
protein treatments with moisture to help replenish the integrity of your hair.
