Removing Color from Chemically Straightened Hair
by Niki
I have chemically straightened hair. I used to dye it all kinds of dark brown colors (even though my hair is naturally dark brown). Now I want to dye it a red color.
I want to know if stripping the hair color out of my hair will also strip the straightening chemicals in my hair.

When you get your hair chemically straightened, it changes the molecular structure of your hair.
Stripping your hair of color doesn't rearrange the molecular structure. It removes hair color, which does not change the molecular structure.
Color removers however, are harsh chemicals and they can
damage your hair, which could affect how
straight your hair looks and feels. It could become
frizzy if your hair isn't somewhat
healthy before you strip the hair color.
