Remove Yellow Tint from Blonde Hair
I'm trying to achieve getting my hair to a platinum blonde from a very dark brown.
Step 1 - Approx. 8 weeks ago a professional hair color stylist stripping my hair 2x in one appointment. My hair turned out a yellowish/golden blonde, which was good for awhile, but what I really want ultimately.
Step 2 - Approx. 1-1/2 week ago I decided to bleach my hair myself to try to get the yellow/golden color parts out of my hair. As I mentioned, I want to have platinum blonde hair. I used Kaleidocolor "Violet" color remover one time.
Step 3 - Then I put a 10A toner on it. Results - still had too much yellow/gold in my hair for my liking.
Then I read about using Manic Panic Virgin Snow White toner/mixer as a toner on Manic Panic's website. I went on down to my local Sally's Beauty Supply store and bought 2 jars.
Step 4 - I used only one so far. It worked much, much better, but there is still a bit too much yellow/gold in my hair.
My question is...is there anything else I can try that would definitely & completely remove the yellow/gold from my locks? I still have one jar left of the Manic Panic Virgin Snow White toner/mixer...should I try that one more time or is there something else that I could use that wouldn't be a guessing game as to whether it's going to work or not?
PS. I also use "Shining Silver Ultra" purple shampoo and conditioner specially designed to take out the yellow out of blonde hair. Even though it's not working very well either, I do think it's working a little bit.

In the first place, using that many harsh chemicals on your hair so close together is risky business!
The yellow cast you see on your hair should not be there after all the products you've used to remove it. It could be possible that your hair is so porous, its absorbing some of the chemicals, which may be giving your hair a yellow tint.
You could try the Manic Panic product again, or try using a very light ash blonde color mixed with 40 volume peroxide to get maximum lift. However, do yourself and your hair a favor and do some strand tests before you use the product on more than one section of your hair. When you do a strand test, you only mix a small portion (according to manufacturers directions) and apply the product onto one section of your hair only.
This is a much better way to know if a product will work or not, without compromising the rest of the
health of your hair any further.
