Fatty fish such as tuna, mackerel, and sardines are an easy way to consume more omega 3 fatty acids. They're important because the blood vessels in your ovaries are minute and susceptible to poor circulation. Smoking, obesity, and high cholesterol may block hormones via blood flow. Fish oils help open up blocked vessels and keep the blood flowing normally. This in turn helps promote regularity.
Foods that contain bright colors are rich in nutrients that also help regulate your period. Avoiding white foods like flour, sugar, potatoes, bread, pasta, and rice is key. These types of foods disrupt a normal cycle by creating insulin surges that result in fat storage. Excess fat can negatively affect normal ovulation.
Proteins that come from plants, (like nuts, cheese, eggs, hummus, anchovies, and edamame), are especially good for enhancing fertility and hormonal balance. The better balanced hormones are, the more regular menstrual cycles will be, according to Dr. Booth in 'The Venus Week'. It's not always easy to get all the protein you need but it's a must-have if you're having menstrual problems.

Chocolate that contains at least 70 percent cocoa solids are known yo enhance blood flow. Flavoniods found in dark chocolate are known to promote estrogen-like activities that improve circulation by reducing the clumping of blood platelets. These gems also enhance micro-circulation in the ovaries and endocrine glands. But don't overdo it! Just a small piece of dark chocolate every day is all you need.
There's another way to help encourage a normal menstruation passively. It takes a little time for it to be effective so be prepared to take it slow and easy.
Using Castor Oil to Help Regulate Your Period
Rub your belly/abdomen down with castor oil, then place an old T-shirt or thin towel over it. Then place a hot water bottle (or heating pad on low) on top of the shirt and cover with a thick towel to help hold in the heat.
Do this daily for an hour (while reading or watching TV) for a few months, then gradually reduce the frequency to twice a month. Claudia Welch, author of 'Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life', says "your period might become heavier or more painful, but that’s just stagnation clearing from the uterus".
*Don't do this near or during your period though.
