There are many programs to lose weight that don't work, but there are some programs that really work well. Since we are all different, you must find the one(s) that work best for you, your lifestyle, and your body type.



Most of the time, any good program should involve a healthier lifestyle. After all, if you want to live the life, you've got to live the lifestyle!

Look for top notch programs that are healthy for you and go beyond normal guidelines and expectations. They should be highly targeted to help you lose weight and keep you healthy! Not only should they be great programs, they should help you save money too. In other words, the programs you join shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg to join or to put into action! They should also have weight loss-ability, be uncomplicated, and have a good following.

There is no magic formula because there is no magic pill. We are all different and must be treated that way. What works well for one person may not work well for the next. Obesity has become epidemic. It is so important to lose weight now while you can. Your life may depend on it!

Although I don’t have weight issues myself that doesn’t mean that I don't know about them. My own mother and sister always struggled with their weight while I was growing up. My mom tried lots of programs to lose weight through the years. Later, she finally lost weight by praying a whole lot and by eliminating cheese completely from her daily meals.

Losing weight is not easy for most people, but it shouldn't have to be deadly. Weight loss should be about a healthy lifestyle and consequently, you will be living a healthier, happier life.

When you vow to follow programs to lose weight, you must have eagle eyes. You must be committed to your health and figure out the best programs that fit into your life and that are doable. I recommend these programs because I've seen the evidence that they work and work well for numerous people. See if one of these are right for you!

The Mediterranean Diet

The traditional Mediterranean diet program comes from the people living in countries like Greece and Southern Italy.

Their lifestyles have been studied extensively over the past several years.

It's been studied because of the notably low incidence of chronic diseases and the high life-expectancy rates attributed to these populations who ate traditional Mediterranean diet foods. The traditional Mediterranean diet delivers as much as 40% of total daily calories from fat, yet the associated incidence of cardiovascular diseases is significantly lower than normal. As a monosaturated fatty acid, olive oil does not have the same cholesterol-raising effect of saturated fats. Olive oil is also a good source of antioxidants. Eating fish a few times per week benefits the Mediterranean people by increasing the amount of Omega-3 fatty acids in their bodies. It's something that the rest of the developed societies don't get enough of. The nutritional value of this programs to lose weight, is what make it so great!

Eating red meat sparingly seems to also increase overall health. There is a general consensus among health professionals that the Mediterranean diet is healthier than the North European and American diet because more grains, (like spaghetti), fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, and olive oil, are consumed reguarly.

The South Beach Diet

The South Beach Diet program was developed by the renowned cardiologist Dr. Arthur Agatston, MD. He developed an eating plan that improved the cholesterol and insulin levels of his patients with heart disease. In his studies, he found that the plan not only improved his patients cholesterol and insulin levels, but it also helped other people lose weight.

The South Beach Diet emphasizes the use of the right carbohydrates and the right fats. The major emphasis is on staying healthy. The diet-style also helps you lose weight. In fact some people lose as much as 8-13 pounds in the first two weeks of the program. More importantly, it also improves your health.

Not all carbohydrates act the same way in your body. Proponents of South Beach Diet believe that much of our excess weight comes from the carbohydrates we eat. The main culprits are the highly processed carbohydrates most people eat. They are found in baked goods, breads, snacks, soft drinks, and others. These foods are stripped of nutrients and fiber as a result of the processing they undergo. They are not the same nutritious foods they used to be. That's exactly why nutrients have to be added back to them, for them to be labeled 'nutritional'. Still, some nutrients are still lacking in them.

When you decrease the consumption of simple carbohydrates, studies have shown that your bodies resistance to insulin greatly improves. Insulin resistance that's caused by excess weight, is an impairment of your insulin's ability to do its job processing fuels like fats and sugars properly. Your body stores more fat than it should as a result. The more fat it stores, the more weight you gain, and the worse your insulin resistance gets.

Once you cut out these foods, your weight decreases because your body starts metabolizing carbohydrates properly. Your carb cravings disappear once you cut down on them. Cutting out processed carbs (or simple carbohydrates) also lowers your triglyceride and cholesterol levels, which is extremely good for your heart. Any programs to lose weight that help you become healthier, helps you to also become a happier camper!

One of my best friends used this program and she lost a bunch of weight. She looks absolutely the best I've seen her in years. She looks great!
