Products for the Germophobe - Listen Up Howie Mandel!

With the H1N1 virus, it might be a good time to review some products for the germophobe in your life. Howie Mandel is one of the best known celebrity germophobes but anyone with germ problems can use these tips!

Frequent hand washing, not touching doorknobs or faucet handles, avoidance of shaking hands – these are all behaviors exhibited by germaphobes. It's normal to want to avoid illness and bacteria but some people have an actual phobia of germs (called Mysophobia). Others are just more obsessive than most people about cleanliness. No matter which camp you may fall in, these products for the germaphobe will help you in your quest to stay healthy and germ free.

Being a germaphobe often involves washing your hands a lot or frequently applying hand sanitizer. Quality antibacterial soaps like Dial Complete Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash and popular hand sanitizers like Purell Instant Hand Sanitizer are definitely favorites of germaphobes. A touch free soap dispenser is also a great product for those concerned with repeated touching of soap pumps. The Simplehuman Sensor Soap Pump dispenses soap automatically when your hand is under the sensor. It also times you for 20 seconds so you know how long you should be lathering your hands for optimal germ killing.

For those worried about airborne germs, an air purifier may be ideal. The Crane Shark Air Purifier helps remove airborne allergens, bacteria, viruses, and germs. It also has a UV light that kills bacteria and viruses for germ-free, healthy air. Plus, it looks like an adorable shark, which can be fun for adults and kids. For an air purifier that is less obvious, there's the Germ Guardian Plug In Air Purifier. This mini purifier destroys germs, odors, mold and fungal spores. Just plug it in wherever you need protection.

At home, you can use the Germ Guardian Bagless 2-in-1 Upright & Canister Vacuum. The Nano-Silver technology in this vacuum helps fight the growth of bacteria and mold. It also has a HEPA filter that can catch up to 99.9% of dust and allergens. There's also the Germ Guardian UV-C Light Sweep, which sanitizes the floor as you sweep using UV light. You can clean up messes while killing germs on hard floors, tile, linoleum, and even carpets.

The Lotus Sanitizing System is another product for the germaphobe. This system sanitizes by using ozonated water (tap water infused with ozone). You can wash produce with ozonated water in the fruit and vegetable bowl, reducing pesticide residue. You can also use ozonated water to decontaminate meat, poultry, and seafoods. There's a spray bottle you can fill with ozonated water to kill germs on various surfaces, such as kitchen counters, sinks, and toilets.

You would probably be disgusted to find out how many germs live on your toothbrush. However, with the Violight Zapi UV Toothbrush Sanitizer, you can eliminate germs with UV light. This cute little device sits on your countertop and can be used with manual toothbrushes and electric toothbrush heads. For clean dentures, retainers, and whitening trays, there's the Violight Dental Spa. This device uses sonic technology to clean and UV light to sanitize. Kill up to 99.9% of germs on your dental devices in less than five minutes!

For an all-in-one germ killer, try a UV Wand. Just pass one of these wands over the item you want to sanitize for the specified amount of time and the surface will be effectively germ free. They kill 99.99% of bacteria and viruses on things like doorknobs, mattresses, toothbrushes, baby toys, shopping cart handles, and much more.

Protect yourself against the H1N1 flu with products like masks, latex gloves, and more. Respirator masks aren't just for germaphobic pop stars anymore. These days, you'll see all kinds of people out and about wearing these protective barriers. You can help protect yourself from the swine flu and allergy symptoms – these masks are effective barriers to germs and bacteria, as well as ragweed pollen.

You don't have to have an actual phobia about germs to benefit from germ killing products. Killing germs means less illness and that's always a good thing. Things like antibacterial soap and hand sanitizer are usually good enough for most people, but if you have a hardcore passion for clean, there are plenty of germ killing products for the germophobe out there for you.
