Practical Hairstyles for Athletes
by Jamie
I have medium thick shoulder length hair, and next year I am going to be my schools new majorette.
I would like to know maybe some hairstyles besides the average pony and bun that would keep my hair out of my face but still look good. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Besides
curling your hair, a ponytail or bun are great ideas for medium length hair, although pigtails are making a come back and are really cute! You can always move your ponytail to different places on your head and curl the ends or spike them. It gives your hair a lift and looks punky!
If you are willing to cut your hair, there are a lot of short hairstyles to choose from. If you opt for longer bangs, a simple barrette or bobby pin will help keep your bangs out of your face. Also
firm holding hairspray or
firm holding mousse are also a great tools for athletes, who want to look good but still be able to perform without a hair hassle.
Before you cut your hair though, you will need to consider your
facial shape. What hairstyles look good on round faces, are not well suited for people with square shaped faces.
Short shaggy hairstyles, layered hairstyles, feathered hairstyles, and tapered hairstyles are all in style and will accomplish what you're looking for. Long bangs are the trend, but you'd have to be able to keep them out of your face.
