Peer Pressured Straight Hair

Ever since I was a toddler, I'd always had short, black curly hair stopping right above my shoulders(a bit puffy too) and it never really looked good ever since I've reached my older ages. Ask each and every one of my friends, and they'd always remembered it like that too.
Recently, a lot of my friends has been pushing me to straighten my hair, saying I would look way better. Finally I did, but the result may ME feel bored: Long, dull straight hair that reaches just past the shoulders, and since it was seriously thick, I'd had to put it up in a ponytail. Plus, it took a lot of time also, which I can't afford with my busy schedule.
Recently I have been considering getting a very short cut like a boys, but I'm afraid about the reaction I will receive. So, should I settle with straight hair? or a short haircut?

In life, you must do what ultimately makes you happy sweetheart. You tried longer, straight hair and it's not for you obviously. If you like your hair curly and short, there's nothing wrong with that.
Actually,
straight hair is out this year and naturally
curly/wavy hair is in! Tell your friends you're just keeping up with the newest hair trends and tell them that their straight hair is outdated!
You'll feel tons better about yourself and your hair!
