Over Processed Hair Problems

by Melissa
(Laredo, TX)

I have colored my hair blond and used one of those chemicals from a beauty shop to help the hair color process faster but it ended burning my hair. My hair would literally break off and it felt like rubber bands.

Of course, I had to cut off most of my hair really short to get rid of the dead hair but most of whats left is still damaged. What treatment can I use to repair my damaged hair that will actually work? Please help!

The basic structure of hair is Keratin (protein), so you'll need some major protein treatments. You will also need moisture to restore your hair's elasticity.

A couple of products to start with are L'Oreal Professional Liss Extreme Enriching, Smoothing Masque, Samy Beyond Repair Professional Intensive Hair Masque, and Davines Rest Deep Restructuring Serum. Of course, there are a lot of other hair reconstructors and/or protein treatments with moisture on the market that will work for you.

Your hair needs some tender loving care if you want it to recover. Only use a wide toothed comb on your hair while its still fragile, which means no brushing it. Gently massage your scalp when you shampoo to stimulate hair growth. You might also consider taking Super Biotin, which also helps promote hair growth. I know I take it everyday for that very reason!
