MSG might just be the culprit if you've been gaining weight but don't know why. It is regularly found in most of the foods you eat. It is camouflaged in foods by a multitude of different names.
Primary sources for MSG are most often associated with the food found in Chinese restaurants. Everyone’s heard this.
I’m afraid that’s not the only source!

MSG is found in every chicken dish they serve at KFC. (Thank God I stopped eating there years ago, when I heard about high amounts of steroids they give their chickens and also the inhumane living conditions in which they keep their chickens.)
The food at KFC may actually have a slight lead over foods served in Chinese restaurants when it comes to MSG content.
MSG has been touted by the Glutamate Association as a revolutionary flavor enhancement with nutritional benefits.
MSG is praised because of it’s ability to make the elderly eat more and therefore live longer. This statement makes me wonder if maybe it’s added to the foods in nursing homes for longevity!
But that doesn’t make it good for us, does it? I have always heard about the ill effects of MSG in our foods, but never heard the 'Obesity fact' that it could contribute to weight gain.
MSG Fact #1
MSG is found in many products you buy.
Overtime, it has become 'a name by many other names' using a wide variety of words as it’s concealment. They are the secret sources of msg! It is a flavor enhancer and will make you eat every bite on your plate and then eat more, because it just makes your food taste so darn good!
MSG might be a flavor booster but it’s also a fat booster. It causes you to gain weight where it’s most dangerous too. The midsection/abdominal area is the first place to look! It also seems to cause abdominal deep visceral fat and is extremely hard to exercise off or get rid of once it’s present.
MSG Fact #2
Children are highly sensitive to it and MSG should not be given to them.
In hundreds of studies around the world, scientists created obese mice and rats to use in diet or diabetes test studies. No strain of rat or mice is naturally obese as you know. Rats just don't get fat in nature. The rats in the experiments were injected with MSG from onset of birth and all of them became Obese.

Did you also notice how many products prominently announce ‘Monosodium Glutamate’ in their foods? Some companies are not even trying to hide it.
That’s probably because they know we’re not looking for it because we don’t know about it. No one's told us! There are many other food sources of MSG as you might suspect! And most are found in our Fast Food Restaurants.
Just a few sources where MSG is found regularly are:
Taco Bell, McDonalds, *KFC, Wendy’s, Burger King, Hardees, TGIF, Chilis', Applebees and Denny's. And that’s just the tip of the iceburg. We also know that MSG is found in abundance in Chinese food too.
MSG is added to food because it is very addictive when you eat it. The more you eat, the more you want!.
‘Finger Lickin Good’ takes on a whole new meaning when it comes to MSG!.
It is an obesity fact that MSG makes us gain weight. Just one more reason our nation (and world) is gaining weight at such an alarming rate!
MSG Fact #3
The MSG manufacturers themselves admit that they knowingly and purposely addict people to their products. MSG makes people choose their product over others, and entices people to eat more of the food than they would have without the MSG.
Since its introduction into the American food supply fifty years ago, MSG has been added in larger and larger doses into the prepackaged meals, snacks, soups, and fast foods we eat everyday.
The FDA has set no limits on how much of it can be added to food. They claim it's safe to eat in any amount.

Studies showing that MSG contributes to Obesity were observed and written about as early as 1978. Both the medical research community and food 'manufacturers' have known MSG's side effects for decades! Best advice?
Try to avoid it and at least cut back on your consumption and eat healthy foods more often. Serve healthy meals! Nothing in excess is good for you and that includes MSG! Just don’t use it. Look at the labels of the foods you consume and keep a clear perspective of what you do and don’t want.
It is an obesity fact that fat is killing us. New estimates for health care costs estimate and predict that by the year 2016, $1 our of every $5 we spend will have to be contributed towards health care.
