Simple Natural Facial Masks to Make at Home

Natural facial masks are a must have beauty trend! Using products you already have at home, saves both time and money!

Even if you don't already have the items you'll need in your kitchen, you can purchase most of them for pennies on the dollar!

Sagging skin can make you look years older than your real age! Facials help keep your skin firm and tight and provide a youthful afterglow everyone will notice!

Of course, you’ll need to clean and moisturize your face on a regular basis too. Moisturized skin helps protect it from the elements and helps ‘plump’ it. Wearing sunblocks protect your skin from dangerous UVA And UVB rays.

Take care of your precious facial skin by using natural facial masks and you’ll help preserve your beauty!

Natural Facial Masks to Make at Home

Moisturizing Mask

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 3 drops scented essential oil (optional)

Whisk all ingredients well. Dip a cotton ball or your fingertips into the mixture and apply to your face and neck.

Allow it to set for approx. 15-20. Rinse your face with warm, clear water. Pat dry.

*** Honey has wonderful properties that help give you beautiful skin. It is anti-microbial (germ killing), non-irritating and it is a humectant (it keeps the skin hydrated, and moisturized). To soften your skin overall, add 1/4 cup of honey to your warm bath water and soak for 15 minutes. There just aren't many natural skin care products that do as much for very little money!***

    Mild Facial Scrub

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup corn meal

Spread the paste gently onto the face and throat area. Rub it on your face with a soft, damp wash cloth. Rinse well with warm water. Store leftovers in the refrigerator to use time and time again!

Honey and Oatmeal Mask (Great for Oily Skin)

  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons finely ground oatmeal
  • 1/2 teaspoon water

Whisk together egg yolk and honey. Stir in oatmeal and water. Using fingers spread the mixture over your face and neck (avoid the eye area). Relax for 20 minutes. Remove the mask with a washcloth soaked in warm water.

Mud Mask (great for oily skin)

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon cornmeal
  • ½ avocado, mashed or blended

Blend all ingredients together. (A blender works best) Apply to your face and neck for 15-20. Remove with clear, warm water. Pat dry.

    Firming Facial Mask

  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tsp. glycerin
  • 1/4 cup flour

Whisk together in a small bowl.Smooth the paste over your face and throat. Leave it on for ten minutes. Rinse with warm water.

    Hydrating Facial Scrub

  • 2/3 cup finely ground almonds
  • 1/3 cup plain oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp. crushed, dried lavender

Apply the paste gently to the face and neck. Rub it around your face with a soft wash cloth. Rinse well with warm water.

    Skin Toner

  • 1 part vinegar
  • 2 parts water

Dab on to face and neck with a cotton ball

    Natural Facial Masks with Food

Some natural facial masks are made by combining certain fruits or vegetables that have anti aging properties. The more you experiment using them, the better you'll know which foods work best for your skin type.

    Avocado

Avocado's are a good source of potassium, which is known as the youth mineral.

Mash half of an avocado and apply to your face. (Squish it onto your skin.) Leave it on for 20 minutes. Gently wipe off with a damp wash cloth. (You can also add 1 T. of honey to the mashed avocado. Honey kills germs and tightens pores. It can be used in all natural facial masks.

    Banana, Honey, and Sour Cream

Mash 1/2 banana, add 1 tablespoon honey and 2 tablespoons sour cream. Apply to face and leave it on for 10 minutes. Gently wipe off with a damp wash cloth.

    Cornmeal

Mix two tablespoons of cornmeal with a bit of water to make a thick paste. Apply to face and leave it on for 10 minutes. Gently wipe off with a damp wash cloth.

    Apricots and Cream

Soak 1 cup dried apricots in water until softened. Then puree in blender or food processor with 2 tablespoons *skim milk powder. Apply to face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Gently wipe off with a damp wash cloth.

*If you don’t have the powder, just use plain milk.

    Cucumber & Yogurt

Puree 1/2 peeled, sliced cucumber in a blender or food processor and add 1 tablespoon yogurt. Apply to face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Gently wipe off with a damp wash cloth.

For Dark Spots or Facial Discolorations

Use lemon juice on your dark spots to diminish them. Apply a small amount of fresh squeezed lemon juice to your face and leave on for 1/2 hour. Rinse. Blot dry. Do this regularly and watch dark spots fade away.

Of course, you have to spend some money on other products that help with facial skin care. Alpha hydroxy acids, toners, sunblocks, and moisturizers are vital.

You can find some quality products that don’t cost a lot. You don’t always have to use the less expensive products though. The more expensive products you can buy usually last a LONG time, so there is real value in these products too!

Be creative and alter the ingredients when you can to experiment. You don't have to add every ingredient in natural facial masks for them to be effective. Just use what you have on hand! You may stumble on something that accidentally works terrific for your skin!
