Money Saving Coupons – Grocery Prices on the Rise!
The belt just got tighter! You will need to utilize some money saving coupons to help you with the price of food at the market. With rising gas prices on the move, our groceries just got more expensive too!
To get by anymore, American’s are going to have to shell out more green! Food prices went up 4% as a national average last year. This year prices are poised to rise the same amount. If you spend an average of $100/week for your groceries, that translates into about $200 more this year for the same amount of food you bought last year.
Insane as it may be! Thats the facts!

In order for you to consume products, the plants (food source) have got to grow first, which uses fertilizer. Fertilizer's are made from oil/gas. (petroleum) Then you have to collect them all and ship them. Gas again times 2! On top of that, you'll have to use gas to get to the store and back home again! A lot of your bottom dollar depends on the gas you consume, in more ways than one! How much an item costs largely depends on how it was produced and where it was shipped from to get to you. It's a chain reaction that doesn't happen overnight but it always happens anytime gas prices are going up. So, what is the answer? There is not any one good answer, but there are a lot of good options to save money. Using money saving coupons is one of them. Here are a few other money saving tips too since we need as much help as we can get right now! #1) - One way to cut back your grocery bill is to cut back on the meat you buy. Substitute cheese anywhere you can. My healthy cheese quesadilla’s are a time saver, simply delicious, filling, and a big hit in our house. Watch this video now. #2) - When you buy red meat, use cheaper cuts. If you just can’t afford rib eyes or tenderloins, a really good substitute is London broil or flank steak. However, if you want the best and cheapest choice, try Tri-tip steak. It is as tender as tenderloin and rib eye steak. It also has less fat and a very low cost substitute. Haven’t ever heard of them? Just ask your local butcher. He’ll know what it is! #3) - With the meat recall of late, it really makes you think about the many food sources from which you buy your groceries. Buy all the meat you can at your local grocery store. (yeah, the little one out in the country) They mostly sell local meats so you can rely on their meat to be a bit safer than meat bought in large food chains like WM and Food Lion. #4) - Know thy butcher! They always say it’s not what ya know but who ya know. Get to know your local butcher! Whatever store you go to! If you have any questions about the meat you’re buying, its good to know someone you can go to for advice. They’ll also be able to answer your requests about the tri-tip steaks! Thats just the tip of the ice too! Here are a lot more tips to save money on groceries. (Don't forget to check out the coupons sites below first though!)
