Makeup Colors for Brunettes

Makeup colors for brunettes are a mixed bag because of individual variations and personal tastes. Although brown hair shades can be diverse, there are no limits for skin color based on hair color alone for example.

Your hair color can give you subtle clues about what makeup you should choose, but don’t get too carried away. You’ll need to select colors according to the tone of your skin too.

Your hair may have golden colors that highlight your tawny strands but it could also be an ashy shade without many other hues present. If your hair is a dull brown color, try mixing in a few complimentary colors to give it more illumination.

Blending your makeup to help reflect some of those colors could be a good idea if you can manage to pull it off. Keep in mind that makeup colors for brunettes can combine or contrast the color of your skin and your hair too!

Foundations

Light - If your skin is always flush, avoid foundations that have red bases to help counteract the tones under your skin. For lighter hair colors, try buff, ivory, or nude foundations that offset your skin tone. For darker hair colors, use the same general guidelines... however you maybe able to use some deeper shades that help perk up your hair and contrast with your skin.

Dark - Foundation colors can be a bit warmer when you have dark brown hair. If your hair color is light, be more selective in the shades you choose. If you'd like to get an exact match for your skin, create your own shade by blending darker and lighter foundation colors together. Opting for golden shades is always a good move if you're unsure which foundation colors to pick.

Lash and Brow Colors

Light - If you have fair skin with brown hair, your brows and lashes are most always light brown too. The colors can differ from person to person but your makeup should never overpower your skin or hair.

Because your skin tone is lighter, opt for muted shades of mascara. All toasty brown colors work well but even teal-greens, eggplant purples, or dark mocha's can liven up your lashes.

Dark - Ladies with darker skin tones typically have darker, thicker lashes and brows. Stick with brown-colored brow pencils that look natural with hair and skin. Black eyebrow pencils may not be a good fit but you may still choose to wear them.

If you're in a feisty mood, try a shiny black mascara to help showcase longer lashes. Chocolate or coffee browns look enchanting as do other other bold colors like pouty pinks and azure blues.

Eyeliner and Eyeshadows

Light - If your skin is pale, opt for mellow liner shades of earthy toned browns, pastel blues, and turquoise greens that blend like a second skin. Keep the tones natural to help makeup look real and authentic.

When you're choosing eyeshadow colors, think about the many different colors you see in autumn and spring. Try shades of warm greens, sunflower yellows, sullen pinks, burnished browns, and soft oranges.

Dark - Ladies with darker skin should think outside the box of regular colors. Just about any bold eyeliner color will help enhance your other makeup colors. Try deeper shades to help draw out and harmonize.

Opt for darker more vibrant shadow colors that embolden your eyes. Plum purples, cobalt blues, daffodil yellows, emerald greens, or magenta pinks can also add energy but you'll need to experiment to find the colors that work best for you.

Blush Colors

Light - Blush colors should be always blend pleasantly with your pale skin tone. Opt for lighter shades of blush pinks or soft apricot colors to help add warmth to your fair complexion.

Dark - Choosing blush colors for darker hair and skin is a cinch. Coral and salmon colors can energize a dull complexion and sunny bronzers look amazingly natural.

Lip Colors

Light - Neutral lipsticks work well as do lighter rusty or bronzy shades. Fiery red lipsticks can also look fantastic but you'll need to choose them carefully. Insist on lip colors that make your lips look flushed and summery.

Dark - People with darker skin tones can use distinct colors that embolden natural lip tones. Neutral colors are great if you like humdrum but dahlia pinks, metallic or cocoa browns, or sunset oranges look enchanting. For a lip twist, try striking dark reds that compliment hair and skin!

Women with brown hair are typically not too hard to please. However, because you're so laid back, makeup colors for brunettes can become boring if you allow them to. Vary your color choices to help you break past simple and ordinary!
