Make Up Colors for Blondes with Fair Skin

Make up colors for blondes with fair skin should use colors that don’t overpower your natural porcelain beauty.

Blondes with fair skin especially, should typically wear softer colors.

Most women who are natural blondes, have either blue, green, or hazel eyes. Its all part of the recessive genes you were given at birth.

Women with fair skin most often have red undertones in their skin. Your face can look flushed at times because of it. Your lashes and brows might also be a lighter color. You’ll need to play them up to get them to stand out.

Your blonde hair is a dead giveaway to the colors you should use in your makeup selections. Depending on the blonde color you were born with, your hair may have some light golden or strawberry red highlights. Platinum blondes have none at all. If you have fair skin with blonde hair, you were probably also born a spring or a fall. It's called your color season and is good information to know when selecting make up colors.

Women with fair skin should use facial cleansers that are gentle on your skin. If you have sensitive skin, use cleansers for sensitive skin. Use toners that have very low salicylic acid in them too. Anything harsh on your skin is a big mistake as they can be too drying to your delicate skin. Moisturizers need to be a bit heavier or cream based if you have normal to dry skin.

Makeup Colors for Blondes with Fair to Medium Skin Tone

Foundation Colors

Your foundation makeup should match your skin tone seemlessly. If you like a bit of color, try one color up only from your natural skin color without straying too far away from it. Tinted moisturizers are also a good idea. They add color without overwhelming your natural beauty.

If your skin flushes easily or you have red undertones, don't use beige foundation make up colors. They only add more red color to your skin. Instead use ivory, porcelain, or lighter golden foundations that are devoid of red colors. If you have dry skin, use cream foundations. If you have normal to oily skin, use mineral foundations or liquid foundations.

Lashes and Brow Colors

If you have fair skin, your brows and lashes are typically a lighter color and maybe sparse. You might want to use a clear mascara to help elongate your lashes or an eyelash curler before applying colored mascara. If your eyelashes are extremely sparse, think about using false eyelashes. You can go for a full set or just fill in single lashes. Adhere three to five individual, medium-length false lashes to the outer corners of each eye with a good pair of tweezers for precise application.

Use brown mascara and eyebrow pencils for a natural look. You can get away with using black mascara if you like a dramatic look or choose mascara colors that match your eyes. Blue or green mascara's look great with green eyes. Purple mascara might work if you don't have red undertones. Mix mascara's for colorful flairs of make up colors. You might even try using glossy mascara, especially for late night parties or clubbing with your gal pals. There are no rules. Play with several different make up colors to find your favorites.

If you find that color mascara overwhelms your face, try using clear or brown mascara to define lashes, then add colors to the tips of your lashes only. This gives you a glimpse of color without adding a lot.

As a general rule, stick to soft brown make up colors for your brows. Remember, even though your brows are a light color, you still need to shape your eyebrows!

Eyeliner Colors

Your choice in eyeliner colors can be just as playful. Brown, black, blue, green, and light purple eyeliner colors all look playful and magical. You can use them to play up your own eye color. If you have blue eyes, teal blue liners work well just as teal green liners look great with green eyes. You can also use black liners to accentuate your eye color. Black liners set the stage for your eyeshadow make up colors.

Apply liners above the top and below the bottom lashes to add drama. Don’t complete both lines though. If you use them all the way along the top lashes, only line the bottom third of your outer, lower lashes. Smudge them for more sensual allure. Make your eyes pop by either extending the lines outside your natural eyelashes, or by applying a white liner to the rims of your eyes, on both top and bottom. If you have close set or narrow eyes, you can open your eyes by using a white liner along your top lashes.

* The rims of your eyes are above your bottom lashes and below the top lashes.

Eyeshadow Colors

If you have a fair skin tones think soft, as these make up colors look best on you. Try lavenders, muted grays, sky blues, baby pinks, light peaches, and grassy greens in softer shades. Use darker shades in the creases of your upper eyelids to create contrast and help embolden your eyes.

If you buy eyeshadow trios in your favorite shadow colors, you should always apply the medium color over your entire eye lids, the darkest color to the crease of your lids, and the lightest color on the inside of your eyes. If you didn’t use liner under your bottom lashes, apply the darker color along the lower lashes only on the outside of your eyes.

Try earthy tones in green, yellow, brown, burnished orange's or reds. Of course, you'll look fantastic in most any pastel make up colors too. Blondes with green eyes can get away with red-based hues like mauves and plums. Brown-eyed babes can wear anything from midnight blues to neutral tones. Blondes with blue eyes look fantastic in gray’s, browns, or blue colors that match your natural eye color. Have fun and experiment when you apply eyeshadow. There are no right or wrong answers. Use the shades that makes you feel good about you.

You might also think about using eyeshadow colors to create a smokey look. Smokey eyes look great with every eye color. You can even use peel off shadows that make eyeshadow application so awesomely easy!

Blush Colors

Blush colors should remain feminine and soft too. Use peaches, pinks, and lighter colored golden bronzers to warm up your cheeks. Apply them not only to your cheekbones but also to the tip of your nose, the center of your forehead and the center of your chin. Any bony protrusion is the place for a touch of color. Its where the sun naturally hits your face and will help warm up your pale face. Don’t forget to blend though. After you apply your blush, go over your entire face with a large makeup brush and blend the blush. Do not leave lines of demarcation. That will make your make up colors stand out, instead of you.

Shimmer makeup is a great tool too. A soft touch of shimmer on your cheekbones create a glowing complexion. Don’t go overboard though. Just a touch will do.

Lip Colors

People with fair skin need to select lip colors that blend naturally with your own lip colors. Neutral make up colors are always the best bet. Nudes, soft pinks, peaches, corals, and even lighter copper colors look fantastic. You can get away with wearing true red lipsticks but be careful when you use blue based red or pink colors. On some people, they can turn your lips cold as ice. Softer lip colors warm up your face give you a less dramatic effect. Don't forget about lipgloss. Lipgloss, lip shimmer and lip plumpers are softer ways to accentuate your facial features.

  • Use a soft glittery gel to add soft sparkles over your eyeshadow colors for festive occasions or late night parties.

  • If you want to set your color, apply a make up primer before makeup application. After you apply your makeup, apply a light dusting of translucent loose powder lightly all over your face, then brush away excesses with a large makeup brush.

  • Light pink shimmer or pearl shades also look great with blonde hair. Add them inside your eyes, on your brow bone, or over your cheek colors.

The make up colors you choose are certainly up to you. Makeup should always enhance the way you look and feel. Use colors that set off the natural seductive shades in you!
