Make Up Applications for Red Hair with Medium to Dark Skin Tones
| | Your make up applications for red hair should reflect your natural darker skin tones. As a general rule you can wear makeup that’s more vibrant in color because they enhance your natural dark skin. |
Red hair colors can vary but are generally darker if your skin color is too. The two darker colors compliment each other seemlessly and your makeup shouldn’t be any different.

Redheads are energetic, passionate and fiery! Think about Sharon Osbourne! Isn't she a real fire ball? If you carry those feisty traits over to your make up applications, you’ll ooze appeal and sizzle! Remember too, you can match your natural colors best by knowing your color season. Make Up Applications for Red Heads with Medium to Dark Skin ToneIf you have medium to dark skin tones, use facial cleansers that help remove your natural facial oils. Use toners that have stronger salicylic acid amounts in them to help deep clean your face and shrink your pores. This helps remove hidden dirt and bacteria and gives your face a dewy fresh look! The moisturizers you select should be light and water based, especially if you have normal to oily facial skin. Foundation Colors Your foundations should closely match to your naturally darker skin tones. Foundations should hide skin discolorations but not overwhelm your skin. Make up applications should enhance your natural skin color without overpowering it. Good foundation color choices are buff and golden colors. If your skin is devoid of red undertones, beige foundations give a hint of red and add blush to your face. Beige colors will especially enhance an olive complexion by counteracting your green undertones. If you have naturally beautiful skin, try tinted moisturizers or sheer foundations . These products are well suited for skin that looks great naturally! They only add a touch of color and enhance your clear skin. If you have dry facial skin, use cream foundations to add more moisture. If you have normal to oily skin, (which is normal for darker skin tones) use mineral foundations or liquid foundations, which are water based and won't clog up pores. Lash and Brow Colors Ladies with darker skin tones typically have darker, thicker lashes and brows. Because of this, you should always shape your brows first, before adding colors. Darker eyebrows can get out of control really quickly, so its important to tidy up brow lines and keep your brows tame. Because you have a darker skin tone, you can use a wide variety of colors in your make up applications. Black is a standard for all women with darker skin tones, but other colors can dazzle your appeal. Chocolate browns look alluring as do other bold colors, like purple, blue or green mascara. If you're daring, you might just try pink mascara ! Why? Cause if anyone ever told you that red and pink don't mix, they were just wrong. Pink is merely a lighter shade of red! Duh! Look at the above picture for proof that red heads can successfully wear pink and wear it well! Plus, pinks are red hot right now, just as purples are! You can also turn on the pizazz by using glossy black mascara for a fun, flirty look or an party night out on the town! As for your eyebrows, stick with brown colors. Use the same color brown as your natural brows so pencils blend in. Don't forget to brush brows out after you pencil them in. Black eyebrow pencils looks can look too harsh and unnatural. Always make sure you follow your natural eyebrow shape for best results! Eyeliner Colors Ladies with darker skin should expand their make up applications. You'll have much more fun this way! Just about any eyeliner color will look fantastic on you. Try liquid liners in various shades of brown or try fun colors like blue or green for a hint of color along your lashes. You might also try and mix them up to create your own trend. Try a black liner above your top lashes with a green pencil liner under your lower lashes. Use a Kohl black liner in the rims of your eyes (both top and bottom rims) and line the top with blue or purple liner. You can also match your eye color to your liner choice. Enhance green eyes with darker or brighter green liner color make up. Embolden blue eyes with bright blue liners that match your natural blue eyes. There are no wrong or right answers for you and your fiery hair. Your make up applications should reflect your mood and make your feel comfortable! Always use pencil liners below the bottom lashes. Use liquid liners only along the top lashes to help your eyes pop. Don’t complete both lines along your lashes though because it closes your eyes. You want your eyes to stand out so don’t make this makeup mistake. If you use liners along the top lashes, only line the bottom third of your outer, lower lashes. Smudge them with your fingertip or use a q-tip (wet or dry) if you like. Try one of these two methods to brighten your face and make your eyes look whiter. Apply a white liner to the rims of your eyes on both top and bottom. You can also use them above your top lashes to brighten up your eyes when you need an extra perk! Extend the lines outside your natural eyelashes with your liner make up applications. * The rims of your eyes are above your bottom lashes and below the top lashes. Eyeshadow Colors
