Long Hair Won't Hold Style
by Joanna
I have a lot of long thick hair that I have no idea what to do with. When I put it in a braid, it just falls out again. When I put it up in a ponytail or pin it up in a bun, it slides down my head and I end up looking disheveled and ridiculous.
And no matter what I do with it, I always have a thousand little broken-off hairs at my scalp and part line that stick straight up. I almost never use product on it, not even hair spray (this may be my problem, but I don't even know where to begin.) Any suggestions for me?

The only way to get your hair to hold style is to use hair products or consider adding
long layers to your hair. Long layers should help add more pizazz to your hair and
trimming your hair will help your hair not be weighed down. Long,
thick hair is extremely heavy and is hardest to get to hold style, especially without styling products to help.
The hair that you're noticing along the part line: Is it broken off hair or new
hair growth? Its very hard to distinguish between the two and no real way to be sure.
Styling products will help hold your style. Use alcohol free products that won't dry out your hair so you can feel better about using them. Hair pomades, hair gels, and hair wax can help hold down fly away strays that seem out of control.
Changing your hairstyle occasionally shouldn't be a big deal. Change is good! There are some simple ways you can add more flair to your hair without sacrificing a lot of length.
You'll feel better about your hair and your hairstyles will hold better.
