Lift Light Brown Hair Color
by Katie W
More than once I have used Ion Color Brilliance Color Corrector to take out whatever color I had, which has either been a red or a brown. The last attempt I made to go blonde, I used Ion Color Brilliance Color Corrector. It came out a medium yellowish blonde. I then followed with Ion Blonde permanant color and even used a 30 volume developer and it turned out to be a light brown color. Anybody have experience with this? My hair is red right now. I want to remove the red and go a medium blonde. Do you know what I did wrong or how I can achieve the blonde color that I want?

Well, what you wrote Katie, is very confusing. You said the color came out a light brown but that your have red hair now? How can that be, unless you colored the light brown color red, or wrote down the wrong information?
Red hair colors are tremendously hard to remove. The problem with lifting them, is that your hair can become a pink color instead of blonde. This all has to do with mixing color bases and not knowing what you're doing. Right now, all you're doing is guessing about your hair color shades.
If your hair is still light brown, use a
light blonde professional color you can find with a 30 or 40 volume peroxide. Then deep condition your hair like crazy!
If your hair is red, you'll have to use a color remover or corrector first, then use the permanent color after you've removed some of the red color.
If you can't get this by yourself, you should seek professional help!
There are no guarantees that this will work though. Maybe you should slow down and learn what you need to know about
coloring your own hair before you totally ruin it!
