Keep Getting Split Ends

Why do I keep getting split ends?

I cut off most of my split ends 2 months ago and since then I haven't used heat to my hair. I don't understand why I keep getting so many split ends. I even use split end products. I'm trying to grow my hair out really long so any tips or suggestions? Please!
