Is an Old Perm Solution Alright to Use?

Can a perm solution become too old? I had planned to get a perm a few years ago, purchased a kit but my daughter didn't want to do it, even though she had learned how to do perms before she quit cosmetology school. I recently discovered a friend has given her mom perms for many years. Can I still use that kit or is it too old?

*************

There's really no real way to know until you try it. However, I would not chance it on my own hair under the circumstances. Chemicals lose their potency over time and sometimes the chemical structure can even change. If you used it, you might end up with real hair problems!

You are already getting the perm for free if your friend is doing the service for you, so why not invest in a new perm to use! They don't cost that much at Beauty Supply Stores and your mind will rest easy while your hair's getting permed. How would you feel if you used it during the service? You'd be anxious as all get out, right?

There's enough stress in the world right now without adding to it. It makes more sense to invest in a newer product to ensure the health of your hair!
