Inexpensive Presents for Finicky Friends and Family
Family and friends can be finicky to please, but some inexpensive presents are universally loved! It is a common misconception that you have to spend a lot to make someone else happy.
One of the most important parts of buying a present is the time and effort you put into picking it out. You should also consider how much you thought about the gift itself.
Gifts that are given from the heart, are the best ones to give and get! You can really tell if someone took extra time for you, just by the gifts you get from them. After all, a present speaks a thousand words! If it's the wrong present, it can speak a million words, that are not in your favor!
Is this gift something that suits the person you're buying for, or is it a last minute item you just picked up in a panic. The best-received gifts are always the ones that took some time and effort! The least received gifts are those which scream out 'I picked this out at the last minute'.
When you make a decision about buying presents, you should consider that person’s tastes, likes, and dislikes. You wouldn’t buy someone who only drinks hot tea, a special blend of coffee, even if you think that person should ‘branch out’ from using their traditional selections. That is called ‘transference’ and it’s best described as projecting your thoughts and desires onto another person. You might like coffee and tea, but you shouldn’t try to change other people. People like what they like, not necessarily what you like!
These are some suggestions for inexpensive presents that are practical, universally loved, and always appreciated! Anyone can give a gift! It takes a little time and effort to pick out the right gift for the right person! With all the sales going on this year, you can bet your money will stretch further, so you can find some great inexpensive gifts for even the pickiest of people in your life!
Ideas for Inexpensive Presents
Fleece - Everyone loves fleece, especially in the winter time! Fleece keeps you warm and is soft and fuzzy. Its a natural gift for anyone who loves to snuggle and keep warm! You can find bedroom shoes, blankets, pillows, sheets, gloves, and so many other items in fleece. The possibilities are endless, but a sure bet is fleece blankets! Everyone loves to snuggle in them when the weather gets cold.
Lipgloss - What woman doesn't love lipgloss? Lipgloss is not only a convenience, but it's also a lip saver! No one likes cracking, chapping lips! Lip glosses add a touch of color with the added benefit of shine. Shiny lips also look sultry and add a touch of fab to your flair! You can choose from a wide variety of shades, but always buy lip gloss sets instead of choosing individual shades. Sets include a selection of different lip gloss colors that even the pickiest of people will enjoy having!
Gift Baskets - For the right person, gift baskets can be a delightful present to give! If you know someone who is struggling to pay bills, gift baskets can be a warm blessing! You can give teas, crackers, herbs, cheese, cakes, cookies, beauty products, candles, candies, or any other low cost presents. Another consideration (which is especially appropriate in this day and age), is to give healthy gift baskets, gourmet gift baskets, or even hanging produce baskets.
Bedding - New pillows, comforters, sheets, and blankets, are always great presents to give and to get, especially for fussy family members! Who doesn't like making their sleep time more comfortable!
DVD Movies - DVD's make great gifts! The best movie choices are those which transcend across generation gaps. Most women love chick flicks like Fried Green Tomatoes, Chocolate, Sleepless in Seattle, or Titanic anytime of the year. Miracle on 34th Street, The Family Stone, Christmas Vacation, Bad Santa, and Ernest Save's Christmas, (personal favorite) are bound to be hits, especially during the holidays.
If you have a DVD drive on your computer, you can copy some of your own movies and give them as presents too! Movies are universally loved by most everyone, even if they're not packaged! DVD movies make great inexpensive presents to give your friends and family, even if they're on the cheap side of things! Remember, its the thought that counts!
Accessorize it! - Let's face it! Money is tight and you probably might have to spend less this year. You can find a wide variety of great inexpensive presents in the accessories department if you just take some time looking around. Pocketbooks, stylish belts, scarfs and other women's accessories are perfect inexpensive presents. Leather belts, hats, and gloves are great accessories for men!
Chocolate - There just aren't too many people who don't love chocolate. Chocolate is always a welcome present! Just consider who you're buying for, and know their likes and dislikes. Are dark chocolates, truffles, or marshmallow with chocolates a favorite? The variety is endless and the choices are simply scrumptious!
Other gifts to think about would be books, earrings, lotions, hair products, perfume sets, makeup sets, and music. Just be sure to remember who you're buying these presents for! That's the most important part.
I used to get a book every Christmas from my Aunt Lillian. Sometimes she made great choices for me, sometimes not! If she had only known I loved 'anything animals', she could have gotten it right every year!
If you're pressed for time, Rice Krispies treats, Chex mix, and even brownies are inexpensive presents you'll love to share. Decorate them with colorful M&M's if it's the holiday season! They're bound to put a smile on someone's face!
When you take the time to look around and think about the presents you give, you will hit a home run every time! Everyone appreciates a gift with them in mind. There is no greater investment in people than your time! Your relationships with others should be cherished. Let the ones you love feel special, by giving gifts that show you cared enough to spend extra time in selecting them!
