Accupressure for IBS with Constipation

A great money saving tip to help IBS with constipation is to stimulate the bowels into action using accupressure. It’s amazingly simple and it really helps. Accupressure Points for Constipation

These points pertain to the meridians in the body. Meridians are energy systems that flow through the human body via a complex network of channels and are another part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. There are twelve of them in all.

One accupressure point is found on the hand in the meat of the web inbetween the thumb and the forefinger. Its called Hoku/Joining of the Valley/Large Intestine 4. (LI4) (Pictured above)

The other pressure point is located on your arm and is called Large Intestine 11. (LI11) (Pictured below)

The pressure point on your arm, LI11, seems to work best to help stimulate bowels.

To find the location:

  • Bend one arm towards your body and relax it, then use the other hand to find the point.

  • The point is located on the forearm, parallel to the elbow bone. Run your thumb along the outside near the bend of the elbow on the forearm.

  • You can feel a slight depression in the bone. Keep searching along your forearm until you find it.

  • You will know you are in the right place as it will be VERY PAINFUL when you apply pressure there.

  • Gently massage it for a few minutes.

    When you use this point in particular, you should generally feel an 'urge to go' in just a short while. Utilizing these points can really help you with your IBS with constipation!

    It just takes a very little bit of your time and is something you can do in the shower or while watching the morning news!

    These two points are both along the Large Intestine Meridian and are known as LI4 and LI11 respectively.

    Of course, one of the best ways to eliminate IBS with constipation problems for good is to simply resupply the friendly bacteria in your body by taking probiotics.
