How to tone down bleached blonde colors?

I have been going to a small local hairstylist for years. My hair is blonde with medium brown roots when they start growing out. (my natural haircolor is medium brown) About every 4 to 6 weeks I go and get a root touch up but have her pull my hair through a cap cause I don't like all my roots to be blonde but it makes me look to bright! But she does pull through small amount of hair all over head.

My problem is that she keeps allowing my hair to lift all the way to white. I have asked her not to cause I don't want my hair to be platinum. I would rather have a honey blonde color or at least a little less white.

So I was gonna get one of those frost highlight kits and wanted to know which color to get? Or should I use something else? I don't want to use anything that is to harsh because my hair is a little dry, but I thought about a toner? Will it make my hair kinda dull looking unlike when you put color on it. Am i right about that? Thanks!

All you need is a toner in your choice of blonde colors. Toner's cannot lift your hair color. A blonde toner will only add color to lighter hair colors. Therefore, they won't change or affect medium brown colors. You could also use a semi permanent color instead of a toner.

If you're wary of trying one, do a strand test first. That way you can be sure about the results before you apply it to the rest of your hair.
