How to grow out a bald spot

How can I grow out a bald spot that's baseball size? The hair that's growing in is hardly an inch long. How can I grow it out faster?
*********
Alopecia Areata is a form of alopecia in which hair falls out in oblong or round circles on your scalp and causes
bald spots. Alopecia can be caused by, but is not confined to: autoimmune disorders, (such as allergies and arthritis), genetics, stress, trauma, illness, pharmaceutical drugs, or pregnancy.
Since your hair is already growing in, this is a good sign that you are getting your hair back in this area. Some people don't get so lucky! You can help your hair grow faster by eating
superfoods, taking
hair vitamins, (especially
biotin supplements) and by
decreasing stress levels in your life.
You could try hair extensions once your hair has grown out a bit longer and the extensions have a base to adhere to. This would help to hide the bald spot until new growth has had time to fill in. If you have long hair, it may take years before
hair growth catches up with the rest of your hair. Until this happens, this area of hair will remain shorter than the rest of your hair.
If you have
long hair, it may be a good time to check out a
new shorter hairstyle. If you want to keep your hair its present length,
get regular trims to keep the 'spot' from looking as obvious. Hair that grows back in this one spot, may have a different
hair texture than your normal new growth. Expect this.
You could also try spot application of Rogaine Minoxidil to help expedite the process. Otherwise, its a process of being patient and thankful. Fifty percent of all people who lose their hair do not grow it back.
Steroid injections also work well for some people but must be performed by a Dermatologist.
