How to Get Wavy Curls

by Angela
(Florida, US)

I always wanted a little more curl in my hair. It is naturally wavy, but I thought to get a wave perm it would enhance the wave.

This is me I had my hair straightened in this picture, and a dork smile lol:

And one more picture of me, to view my face better.:

This is the idea of what I would like:

If I were to get a perm do you know what kind is NOT a heavy curl? And if I get a perm, can I straighten it? Can you part curly hair from the side? Because as you can see I don't wear my hair in a middle part.

You are precious Angela! The wavy curls that you posted are simply just curls, no perm involved. In the first image, the large spiral curls simply start mid hair shaft. That's really easy to do with your curling iron!

However, if you want wavy curls that are more permanent, then yes, a perm will do just that. You'll want to get a spiral perm, which will give you more of a wavy look. You can also get a body wave instead of a 'perm', which will also give you the curls you want.

Just make sure the hairdresser you choose, knows what they are doing. Ask them how many other body waves or spiral perms they've done before you set your appointment. Spiral perms cost a quite a bit of money so you should also be prepared to pay more for them.

And yes, you can part curly hair to the side:o)
