How to Get Rid of Green Hair Color
by Kimmy Redmond

I had a brown rinse on my hair done by stylist, but went to beauty school to redo rinse. I asked for a dark brown rinse, but the new rinse made my hair green.
How can I get the green out of my hair? I am African American with a perm.

Hair rinses are only temporary and should wash right out of your hair in a few shampoos. However, if your hair was on the dry side, a rinse can stick around longer because the hair's thirsty cuticles, absorb more of the color than they're meant to.
According to the color wheel, which shows complimentary colors, (which neutralize unwanted tones or color hues), you should use a red hair color (rinse in your specific case) on your hair.
Try to remove the green color by washing your hair a lot first. If that doesn't work, you can even try applying ketchup to your hair to counteract the green color. You can get more details about the process from this page:

If those things don't work, then try a red colored rinse.
