How to fix faded blue hair
by Donna

I had my hair bleached and dyed 10 days ago at a salon. The color that was put onto my hair has already faded to a greenish color. I had it dyed blue.
Should I bleach my hair again before trying to put more blue dye on it? When it was done at the salon it was really orange looking after it was bleached. I have black hair.

This is tough. Black hair colors are stubborn to remove, even with bleach. That may be the reason the hairdresser chose to leave your hair in the orange stage of decolorization. Hair colors get the best results on hair that's been bleached/lifted to pale yellow color or lighter though.
If you use a blue color on top of a green color, you are likely to get a blue green color. If you want true blue, your hair will have to be bleached again.
Truly I would call the salon and tell them about the fading of the blue color to green. They may offer to fix your hair for free! Its worth a shot anyway!
If not, and you do this yourself, just be aware that the longer you leave bleach on your hair, the more prone it is to damage. Watch it carefully while its processing!
Also, after you apply the blue color, do not wash your hair for at least 3 days. You want to give the color every chance to absorb into the hair follicle. You can rinse your hair and condition it if you like, but don't shampoo!
Also, condition your hair like crazy to lock in the color.
Use shampoos and conditioners that are specifically formulated for chemically treated hair. You might also do well using organic shampoos (harsh shampoos can strip your color so they are most important!) like
Loreal Everpure.
Hope this helps!
