Highlights Gone Wrong

I went in for a color touch up. I have been getting the same colors for a year now, every 10 weeks. I have a very dark brown, a bright red, (which fades very nicely) and light blond colors applied to my hair. It was done in chunky highlights. I went in on an off day because I had an afternoon off of work.
Well a new person ended up doing my hair and for some reason she did not follow the same highlight pattern? I asked her to fix the top portion, which she attempted to do and I thought was an alright fix, until I got home and noticed that my blonde areas were very blotchy and a pinkish orange color. Upon further inspection, the highlight sections seem very haphazard, kinda messy and those were blotchy as well in the blonde and red sections. Which is how I've come to the conclusion that she did not use the same pattern as the other stylists.
The sad part is I finally got a color that I loved and now its gone. I'm not very good at explaining things, so this is very traumatic for me. I am going to call the salon tomorrow morning and see if they will listen to what I think happened and see what if anything can fix it. I'm not typically a complainer, but I am losing sleep. I actually cried. I'm afraid its not fixable because she already tried twice.
Another thing is that she foiled the top portion in the opposite direction than it had been before, which is why I made her fix it. I was reading and didn't notice until it was all foiled. I'm humiliated and angry with myself for not noticing sooner. But hey, I'm an accountant, not a hairstylist. Who am I to say what techniques work or don't. :(

You are exactly right about that dear! I don't know accounting and you shouldn't be required to know about color. However, it is good to take notice of what's being done to your hair! If someone else, for instance, was doing your taxes for you, you'd check behind them and want to know about something if it didn't look right or add up, right?
Same rules apply to people that take care of your hair. (And also doctors, lawyers, and the whole kit and kabootle!) When something doesn't seem right, speak up. Its hard to do however, when you're 'in the chair' because its so relaxing to have someone else fix your hair.
However, you aren't chained to the chair and that should be your first clue. Every woman should know exactly what colors are applied to her hair because if you ever need to change salons or stylists, this is information you'll need. It will also help you to notice when the colors used don't look or seem right.
Most stylist's will give the information to you, no questions asked. If not, then don't go back to them!
