Highlighting Suggestions for Medium Brown Hair

I just colored my hair to cover up the gray. I used a medium brown color and would like to highlight it to lighten it up a little. What would be the best color to use? *************** A medium brown color will be hard to get to lift to a blonde color without a high lift peroxide and a high lift color. Of course, light brown highlights would also look good with dark brown hair. Its difficult to suggest a highlighting color for you, since hair color is a personal choice. Remember that color lifting is tricky. You can't just slap on the color you want to have and expect it to turn out to be the right color. Hair color is based on the color wheel. The color you get depends a lot on the base of the color you used. Highlighting would be much easier if you used bleach but this too is tricky by yourself, unless you have previous experience with it.
