Healthy Eating Tip to Lose Weight

What is the best healthy eating tip to help you lose weight? There are a lot of different ideas about it, but here's the scoop. There is one food in particular, that when eaten by itself, acts as a natural cleansing agent in your digestive tract.



Do you know what it is yet? Can you guess? Before I ‘give you the scoop’ on this healthy eating tip though, lets talk about the history behind it. There are a few elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine that you should know that pertain to this tip.


Healthy Eating Tip



Traditional Chinese Medicine dictates that you should ‘eat fruit’ by itself on an empty stomach. According to TCM, you should 'Eat fruit alone or leave it alone'!

It can be any fruit like:

  • A handful of grapes, (preferrably grapes rich in antioxidants like red or black grapes),
  • an orange,
  • a banana,
  • a plum or two,
  • 1/2 grapefruit
  • an apple,
  • an orange
  • 1/4 cantaloupe
  • or watermelon

    You might be wondering, why do they say to eat fruit by itself? You should eat fruit alone because fruit in its pure, raw form is more easily digested by itself.

    Eating fruit alone aids in cleansing the digestive tract. Raw fruit helps to 'sweep' the intestinal tract. As it sweeps along the long corridors of the intestines, it picks up other lingering debris and helps SWEEP it down the tract for elimination. This is the best healthy eating tip around!

    Remember the old adage: 'An apple a day keeps the doctor away'? Well there must be something to that!

    Americans probably have the 'unhealthiest digestive tracts' of anyone on the planet. Its no wonder with all the crap, (steroids in our meats, pesticides and insecticides in our produce, and preservatives in everything else), they add to our foods, and the enormous amounts of junk foods going into our systems! Everyone could all use a bit of digestive tract cleansing!

    Another TCM saying is 'one meal in, one meal out'.

    The Chinese, and other cultures, believe that you should have 2 or 3 bowel movements each day! Just another sign that our digestive systems are way off balance!

    Eating fruit by itself is a good healthy eating tip. You'll be doing your digestive tract a favor! Remember too, that any successful healthy eating tip means consuming fewer calories, eating less food in general, and eating healthier foods and healthy meals when you do eat. You are fooling yourself if you think that any diet that permits you to eat anything you what will help you to lose weight.

    For healthy weight loss, follow these simple rules:

  • Don't eat a large meal in the evening when you'll have little opportunity for exercise afterward. It's best to eat more at the times when you are going to be the most active. Eat a healthy breakfast, a substantial lunch, and a light(er) dinner.

  • Never skip breakfast! You don't have to eat breakfast first thing in the morning though, if you aren't a morning person. Eating breakfast later in the morning is absolutely acceptable.

  • Eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly.

  • Eat lots of healthy snacks in between meals!

  • Don't eat while you're doing things like watching TV, using the computer, or doing your homework.

  • Don't fry foods: broil them, bake them, grill them, sautee them, stir fry them, or pan fry them in healthy olive oil without the flour coating.

  • If you must snack, (yes we must!), stock your fridge and cupboards with low calorie snacks, oatmeal, cereal, health bars, raw vegetables, and low fat yogurt.
