Q) - What exactly is hask placenta? Is it human placenta? How does it work on hair?
Professional Hair Care Tips - Great question!
I did a whole lot of research on this question! There are a lot of reviews and an abundance of information about it. Some of it's good information, but some is unfortunately misinformation.
Hask placenta is not made from human placenta. It is instead, made from sheep placenta. It is a protein diet for bleached, tinted, or damaged hair and promotes healthy, strong hair.
Placenta is basically after birth. The placenta is taken after a mom sheep has her baby sheep. (Baa!) This does not harm the mother or the baby. Normally they would just discard the placenta. In this way, the product is eco-friendly as they are reusing something that used to be thrown away. The product is also all-natural and biodegradable!
I looked at several reviews for hask placenta, and although it works very well, the thought of putting sheep placenta on your hair is a bit intimidating. The benefits of using this product are tremendous though. To keep your hair from getting damaged, you should always strive to keep your hair healthy in the first place. Don't abuse it and take biotin supplements, which also promotes healthy, strong hair and nails. Organic hair products also work great at restoring hair back to its health, by don't use harsh base surfactants (cleansing agents) and other drying ingredients.
Many people (me included) don't mind that this product is made from sheep placenta from the reviews I read. It works really great for anyone with over-bleached, frizzy, or dry hair.
Make sure the manufacturer you buy from does not do 'animal testing'. There are many that don't do it, so be selective. It's a cheap way to get back your healthy hair, and a worthwhile product to use if you can get over the fact that it's made from placenta.
