Hairstyle for Thick Frizzy Hair

by Kaitlin
(Arkansas)

I have medium length hair (about shoulder length), and its SUPER thick and frizzy. Its color is unique. Its a mix between red and brown with a few natural blonde highlights in the front (hardly visible).

I usually straighten my hair, but it takes WAY too long! Do you think you could suggest a cute, quick hairstyle that works for me to wear to school? But I also have basketball practice after school almost every day, so I need to be able to pull it up in a ponytail after school. Can you help?

***********

That is a really hard task. Suggesting a hairstyle for someone else is risky. If I chose a style that you didn't like, you'd be upset.

You can get rid of some of the frizz by using smoothing shampoos and smoothing conditioners. Also there are straightening creams and smoothing milks that will help straighten and smooth your hair. One of my favorite products is Dumb Blonde Smoothing Stuff. It works for all hair colors. These products can help straighten your hair so you don't have to straighten it as often!

Since you seem to like your hair straight anyway, why not ask your parents if you can have your hair chemically straightened? That would solve the issue of frizzy hair plus your hair would be more manageable. Also, you would have a bigger selection of hairstyles to choose from that might work well for your hair.

You can also use the demo tools on this site to help you decide. And for a small price, you could opt to join the Hairstyler.com so you can upload your own pictures and try on hairstyles before you make a drastic mistake.
