Hair Nitemares

by Sharon
(Tucson, AZ)

About 5 years ago I went to a Beauty School and the girl gave me the best cut I have ever had and she continued to do so for the remainder of her schooling. Since then, I have had horrible haircuts and cannot understand why stylists can't look at my former hair pictures and cut it the same way.

I have thick, coarse hair which once looked like yours. Now my ends are brittle after asking for point cuts. My layers are not flowing, the ends are chunky and it makes me feel so terrible to walk around with this mop like haircut. I have tried at least 10 stylists since then.

I hate to complain but I can't go back to the same person who messed up my hair and expect them to do a good job. I do notice that people really don't pay attention when they are cutting my hair and coarse hair cannot tolerate razor or cho cuts. Can you look at my hair and give advice. I have seen your videos on youtube and my hope is renewed once again!! Thank you!

I would have been happy to look at your hair and given you advice on it but you didn't add your picture to your submission. You can however, contact me. From there, I will email you back and you can in turn, email me your picture.

Have you tried leave in conditioners on your hair ends to help moisturize them? They're a great way to smooth and nourish your hair. I've been cutting my own hair for years and learned many techniques over time! Cutting your own hair isn't something they teach in Cosmetology school.

One reason I went to Cosmetology school, (almost 20 years ago) was because no one would listen to me either. Its very annoying and frustrating indeed! I thought I could be one stylist 'out there' who actually listened to what customers wanted! I never took phone calls when I was with a client and always gave them my full attention! IMHO, the client paid for my time and deserved it. It sure seems like most stylist's don't get this!

All the videos I post on youtube, are also available on my site. There are three easy ways to add layers to your hair safely, by yourself.
